Fastest we ran that day was around 100. We normally cruise around 65

Hey, I wonder if you could help me? Are you familiar with a 16' 1978 Cee Bee Avenger? I'm working on one, I have a 1991 Yamaha 225 to put on it. The transom calls for a 20" shaft, but the Yamaha has a 25" shaft, so I'll have to raise it and set it back with a jack plate, which I have ready to go... Does this sound unsafe to you? Do you think this center of gravity will be too high to be safe? The boat only weighs about 700 pounds with no motor, but I don't know what what to expect. How much does your boat or some of those boats in your video weigh? Also, do you know a good source to buy and/or work on used outboards? All my local dealers just want to sell me a new wake or bass boat, ugh. I'd appreciate any info, Thanks!

mercury is the most common older outboard that everyone still runs so there quite a few people that still work on them. and all you can do is try with the 25" shaft. just take it slow and feel the boat out before just running it wide open

Love the boats, My biggest question, Could someone get a 2.0 Merc in a tiller for my 1998, 690t Ranger? My dealer says boat would squirrelly, But squirrelly is fun, Had a 14ft fishing boat with 30hp, that went 38mph.

Mr GT, I've had fast 18 to 21'outboards that have run 80 to over 100... and although the stv, can run 110 in sum chop, those grand national classic style 20-24' v drives, like rayson, schiada, Howard etc are just as fast, no asshanding. Then u have the skirace boats which run outboards and will also handle tt, bbc at 1200hp+ , run #6 drives, n pull 2 skiers at 120mph plus for distances and not just in flat river water... I'm an east coast, s florida guy...dad had a 28 magnum in the 70s and I currently own a 24 skater, had a 28 pantera with twin 500 efis, plus the smaller outboards, velocity, Allison, action... with all the beautiful creations out there, on both coasts, my bucket list boat is classic 24' schiada, custom "miller" wood deck, simple graphic, and a 1200 hp tt, a sexy wave crusher, a comfort 80mph cruiser, lots of shiny bits. A real adult boat, built by a family of craftspeople. Or a 24 tuff, 30 phantom, 38 top gun, Doug Wright, or Riva even a God damn sailboat!
