if you want to try this strategy don't get discouraged by the squid skip it is actually very simple to do with some practice and then the rest of the run is also pretty simple but requires some knowledge of how the squid scooters work (ie. squid not teleporting you back if you jump out of water for some strange reason)

you can also do it with a strange drink, strange fish/root and a crate. go in via the hole next to the left wing of the plane

@@SpringManJ running straight there using a drink is fast. you can also save time by using wave emote while holding a crate, which is allowed in regular speedruns. but the fastest is to get a drink, crate and rock, teleport to dome then and also get a root, then disable the armour and go to lake. this skips going back and forwards from dome/green button. although it doesnt matter as much, since you just need everything done before 20:00. i'd say this would be more useful in hangar runs.

idk around 8 maybe? all the failed attempts was when I forgot something and I only lost once after I summoned mantis (I was too slow and forgot I could move while talking to mantis so the parasites got to their position before I could go around them for art C)

how the hell your mantis survive the hornet and leech, my mantis cant even survive leech alone... i disable hornet and leech shield/armor btw but the mantis didnt do anything bruuhhh

try to get mantis to attack hornet first and distract leech while being out of view of hornet, this is so hornet doesn't get stinger shots off while they are fighting leech because it takes a while for leech to die due to his auto heal. after hornet is dead re summon leech and try to distract leech still as long as possible so he doesn't heal (your squids can outrun leech by a lot). pretty much attack hornet first and distract leech so he doesn't do any extra damage

I assume you mean the aur pockets I used to get to the squids. I gave them half hearted names just so I could describe them to my friends so yeah. the first one I call the green cross, the second I call the white corner, and the final one I call the brown dot. Bad names but they still convey what to look for

They are called air pockets and the method is called squid skipping. Perfect places are usually grave, earth and marble (marble is kinda meh, but still usable)

Actually it isn't luck based at all. I purposely have it so I summon mantis on day 2 so the parasites spawn on day 2 (the parasites spawn at somewhere in bungalows and will always walk towards the pylon) so throughout all of my testing the parasites and mercs fought 100% of the time, both damaging the parasites AND killing the mercs. Probably the only luck based thing in the run is the spawn of the peanuts but it doesn't affect the run at all because of my thing with summoning mantis at a specific time so the mercs and parasites fight

the parasites will pretty much always run into the mercs if you free them by day 2 because their pathing is guaranteed to take them to the pylon which the mercs should be at if they just got spawned by the helicopter

there are symbols on the wall that have a line connecting them to the panels on the floor. Match up the wall panels with the floor panels (I did a few extra things like looking at the wall panels while the cutscene played and then just guessed on the last floor panel) it's not too hard and you get a lot of time to do it

I'd say the hardest part about this is the parkour due to the slippery physics. I highly recommend grabbing a climbing tool from the campsite next to dome
