AJ Gupta reminds me of a con joke that I heard in 1989. Of a poor Indian who wanted to impress two wealthy people at a banquet. So he goes between then pretending to the one that he knows the other very well. So One Mr Rich sees him talking or trying to talk to the other Mr Rich , appraches him, then he said ' I'll talk to you later, then walk over to another Mr Rich. The result was that they all took him to be influential.
