Day 22 - Camino Frances - El Burgo Ranero to Mansilla de las Mulas

Day 22 - 22nd September - El Burgo Ranero to Mansilla de las Mulas - 19.6km
The guidebook described “uniform stage” of farmlands continued today and the landscape was almost identical to yesterday. The plane trees lined the gravel path that ran along next to a quiet country road. But there was no motorway noise and I found myself focussed on the smallest details in the landscape. It was almost a game to spot something different or out of the ordinary.
The leaves on the plane trees are just beginning to show their colour and with the mature/ripe sunflowers and fields that have been harvested, it is clear that autumn has arrived. It is Equinox day today in Spain so it is officially Autumn.
The temperatures are steadily dropping and the walking conditions are perfect for a kiwi who is not fond of the heat.
Today is my 8th consecutive day walking without a rest day and I have just one more walking day before a wee break in Leon.

I too am enjoying your little reports. And they also bring back wonderful memories from my Camino at this time last year ......the weather was a 'little' warmer.......but the views almost identical. Buen Camino 😊

I met her in the square in Leon today. Her wrist is strapped but otherwise she is OK :-)
