Day 24: Camino de Santiago-Hospital de Órbigo to Astorga

The 17km (10.5 miles), twenty-fourth day of the Camino Frances which finishes up our journey through the Meseta with its nearly flat walking. About half of the route is on paved surfaces.

I am so relieved that 'that' friendly dog actually has a home. Way back September 2022, while walking at dawn in Villares de Orbigo, he approached us and walked with us. He was very friendly and appears to really like the company of pilgrims. We were afraid that he might get lost from his humans/family if he continues to follow us so we shooed him away. He quite persistently walked from a distance from us despite our ignoring him. We saw him enter a house before entering Santibanez and me and my buddy kept convincing ourselves that he lives there. At the back of my mind, I am still concerned that he might have lost his way home. All that concern and guilt has vanished when I saw your video. I am 100 percent it was the same dog as I have pictures and video of him , a very gentle and friendly dog despite his bulk. Gracias and Buen Camino!

Well, now. This is an unexpected benefit of my video. All I wanted was to give people a guide to the Camino, but this definitely goes beyond that. Thanks for telling me that story. It made my day.
