Day 26: Astorga to Foncebadón | Camino Frances 2019 | Camino de Santiago

Something so spiritual and sentimental that just puts your soul at peace when I watch your journey. I often catch myself pondering off and feeling grateful many times and when I watch your camino videos, it ‘takes you there’...if that even makes any sense at all. Something about those sunrises or sunsets and the solo peace you have when all you have is yourself. Lovely video. Thanks for another day you have taken us along! 🤗😊💕

Lighting at sunrise and sunset seem to the best along the Camino. Ellen de Generis on the Camino (hahaha) That's the second pizza I've seen on your vlog I'd like to have 😂 Stay healthy and safe. God bless!

I walked the same time as you but stopped at Santo Domigo de La Calzada. I did see you in Puenta la Rena at the Jakue Hotel/Alburgue during dinner. I was going to finish my Camino in May 2020 but of course that got put on hold due to the "you know what". At least I can watch the Camino with your excellent videos until I can re-schedule to go back. Thanks for the upload, and Buen Camino!

Had a thought , do you need to bring your own cloth pegs / pins , or are they supplied ? Cheers

I used binder clips since I didn’t want to poke holes in my clothes. Most places had clothespins but you run the risk of them running out of lots of people are doing laundry.

Thank you so much! Yes, the rooms and the bathroom seemed very much newer or perhaps just recently renovated. It was a great stay! As for the dislikes, I try not to let them get to me-these videos are my own memories and my diary of one of the most poignant journeys (physically and figuratively) of my life thus far. @@IllGetThere When you were leaving Astorga and said you might go to the Cruz that evening I thought you might not make it because it is a persistent climb to Foncebadon. I read somewhere that the Cruz is the second highest point on the Camino Frances. Can't wait to see you at the Cruz. When I have been there it's almost like being in a church.

Thank you. I think I made the right decision to wait until morning because it was exactly the kind of dark, quiet peace I needed to reflect as I made my way to the cross. As such, I really did make most of that climb and time at the Cruz in my thoughts and heart. But the silhouetted sight of the other pilgrims was something to behold. Very, very special milestone.

I found many of my accommodations on Booking.com, too. Even if you don’t book through them, you can see some photos and read reviews. And try not to book too far ahead-it’s nice to have flexibility if you decide to stay elsewhere. 😊👍

@@IllGetThere That's the plan, booking day ahead and maybe a couple of days out closer to Santiago since it get busier. Take my time and not rushing. But then, just don't know what it will be like next year. Hope and pray for the best. Thanks again.❤
