Wow! Today’s readings - followed by Fr Mike’s explanations… so powerful and enlightening! Jesus definitely was not afraid to face up to the church leaders and hold up a mirror on their inner motives. No wonder the days between Palm Sunday and Good Friday were so volatile! The crucifixion of Our Lord was hastily arranged to silence Him. But as we know, the Resurrection changed everything - and forever! Thanks be to God! Prayers for Fr Mike, Jeff Cavins and all of us on this journey in 2023. 🙏🙏🙏

Fr. Mike’s prayer has me singing “….And He walks with me and He talks to me..” and it gives me peace. And I’m reminded of hearing “Do as I say, Not as I Do” and it had a negative connotation, but now I see that it can also be a positive thing. Praying that you all have a Blessed and Peace-Filled Day.

Father, your approach in explaining these scriptures today, that being, clear, gentle yet direct, no watering down, kind and straight forward is such a help and blessing and a good reality check. Through your teaching I’ve realized I was coasting and had lost the balanced view of Jesus and Him also being a Just Judge. Bless you.

The fruits of churches like the episcopal and lutheran churches are the acceptance and even celebration of homosexual lifestyles, disbelief in the bible, abortion is ok, etc. We finally recognized this and have since begun attending Catholic Services and RCIA.

I was very sick for a couple of months and now trying to catch up. I have read the Bible several times & always took more time in the gospels to understand Jesus as much as possible, I’m finding this extremely rushed and unpleasant. It’s like gulping down the most exquisite dishes at a banquet while not savoring anything. I’m disappointed and because I’m behind, I don’t feel like I can go back. I wish there was more time for the gospels, I fear people are missing out. I know almost all of it by heart which surprises me, I know what Father will say next yet I still feel like I’m gasping for air, I can’t imagine what it’s like for people who are reading for the first time. Still, God bless Father Mike, I have learned so much, I love this podcast. I pray for Fr Mike every day.

September 21, 2023 Round Two I do not want to pray alone. Will you please join me in praying for Souls in Purgatory? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: The Prayer of St. Gertrude Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. @@LCccce6 This is what the word does. It convicts so you are on the right track. the first message Jesus and John the baptist ever preached was about repentance, metanoia which means turning away from something, a complete transformation ans$d reformation of our hearts. Conviction is necessary for this to happen which means the Word is already working in you. Now it is up to you with the help of the Holy Spirit to be the good soil that Jesus talked about in one of his parables.
