Re churches being locked, alas the problem is if no one is available to "watch" then things dissapear, and many Churches have had that problem.Buen Camino.

A Spaniard here. Everybody always talks about the Spanish cities but I am truly convinced that the real beauty in Spain you can find it in the small hamlets and villages scattered all over the country. They also transport you back in time. I love the doors too!!!

@@louaceveu1925 I love the little villages too. Hontanas, rababal, Estella have been my favourite so far but the doors are very special everywhere in Spain. Paris has a special place for them too.,

M, I have a vermouth question. I love the stuff. Am leaving in three weeks. Did all the little bars along the way have it or just towards the end? Wondering if all the little bars make their own like a lot of places in barcelona do....

I have a thing for doors as well and oh my gosh Spain has beautiful doors. Love your video. If you don’t mind saying how much do you average daily for costs? Alburge, food, drinks, treats. Some people say about 50 euros but it all depends each person is different. Watching your videos I’d probably eat like you show in your video. lol 🌸 I’m hoping to do my first Camino next year. Thanks

You spend about €50 a day, less if you cook your lunches and dinners.

Don’t mind walking in the rain (wind not so much)…More fashion on the Camino please. That could be fun. I’m glad Margaret translated the instructions! It makes sense to turn your “back to the cross” as the poem said, and throw the stone over your shoulder. How else would you symbolically leave your burdens behind you?

I think churches shouldn't be locked. They are a sanctuary for people. It would defeat their purpose.

Seriously M? A video less than an hour? What has happened?😂 This week we have a huge storm in the northwest of Spain. Where I live it has rained 100 liters per square meter. But be careful, you are near Mount Teleno, where Taranis lives, the thunderer, the god of wind, thunder and storm. I always make some small offering to him since now it is not allowed to sacrifice people. Hahaha! I don't like ponchos, with the wind you look like an old hanging rag and if you walk near a road it can get caught on a truck that passes by (happened to me on my first Camino, what a shame) Ringing the bells is not automated everywhere. I used to play those in my village church when someone died. There are different bell ringings depending on whether the dead person is a man, woman or child. About the backpack, I am very proud of you. You've carried it all the way. Don't ever say that you are in middle age, you are in the BEST MOMENT of your life. Now you are strong and wise. The freshly squeezed orange juice is the best but they charge it at the price of a barrel of Brent. I love seeing you walk happy. I don't know you, the only thing I know about you is what I've seen in your videos, but I like to see people enjoying something that I love. You don't need to do anything special at Cruz de Ferro, just leave your burden. For Galicians it is a very sad place. Since the 19th century we went to mow the wheat fields in Castilla and left a stone there hoping to return safe and healthy. Those who returned did so exhausted and sick. There are many Galician tears on that cross. Sorry, I'm excited about the story.

@@xangarcia2677 you are a fountain of knowledge. What amazing stories here Xan. Well I better watch out for the thunderer because we are descending a huge way soon and I don’t want to slip. Hopefully he is sleeping and not sending more rain.
