Presentation of Jesus in the temple - 40 days after birth, Jesus is presented in the temple to His Father. A symbol of what He will be doing His entire life. Total offering to His Father. Simeon and Ana represent the old covenant... Only they recognize Jesus. The awaited for Messiah. A cause for rejoicing. Lord, I give this day to you. I rejoice where I have seen your salvation. So now I'm going to go to bed in peace Jesus. I entrust those areas in my life, in my family, in the church, in this country which still need the fulness of your Light and the fulness of your salvation. 🙏

Dear Fr. Mark Mary, Thank you for, again giving me new insight to this Holy Mystery. Every time I have meditated on the Presentation of the Lord, I get caught up in the idea that, if it were me, I would have left the temple angry. What was to be a joyous occasion over shadowed by a grim, even horrible prediction. (But, I'm not filled with grace)

I thank God that through this podcast, my prayer life has been enriched tenfold , and I've also become more disciplined in my prayers - I still need work but I'm getting there. Thank you Father, Poco a Poco. I now realize the meaning of the phrase, not the translation , I know it's Little by Little, but now I know it's power too , each day we spend a little time with God here, Little by Little, day by day, before we know it, it has been a month and a few days that we all have been in this prayer journey together. Bless you Father, and Bless you all who has shared your stories, your experiences, the gems received by praying with this podcast , but also your worries and questions, which in turn helps the rest of us to be more prayerful. I have seen so many non-Catholics give their testimony of their Love for the Rosary, even if they are unfamiliar with the Catholic Church. I've also seen a surge of those who has converted and are in the process of being baptized in the Church , and in the process of conversion , thanks to the power they experienced from The Rosary, and from the prayerful meditations we've been taught, and go through together. For us Cradle Catholics, we are invigorated and reinvigorated in our Faith and prayer life. Praise be to God, and Thanks be to Mary for bringing us back, bringing us home, to be with your Son. So that through your Son, and with Him, we grow closer and more intimate with God The Father, Amen.

I always knew the presentation of the child Jesus was a Jewish ritual of giving back the gift of chilld back to God for His service but never connected it to the cross. Thank you Fr Mark for opening my eyes to this aspect

I always visualize two things…. One is that Joseph and Mary had both, as having been consecrated to God, had spent time in the Temple when they were children. Thus it may be that Simeon and Anna knew them both. Also, Simeon mentions his eyes. In some translations it says “mine own eyes.” Could it be that as he held the Christ child, his vision returned. He was old and could have had cataracts. Just something I love to meditate on.

I once looked up the meanings of the names of the two elderly people in the Temple. Simeon means “he who listens”; Anna daughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Asher means “Grace, daughter of God’s face, of the tribe of the Blessed”. I find that so beautiful.

So Simeon is the one who taught us Catholics to rejoice but be advised it can be hard too. Waiting for the other shoe to drop type of thing. I thought that was just my Irish upbringing. if we respected the Faith of our ancestors, the one that made us reach today and be born in civilization, we would be continuers of that tradition of awake, sensible souls, Family and fighters, Humble and hardworking. «Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith? in my case, easy to understand, difficult to apply. In the storms of different trials, let us show Faith in God. whatever happens to us, let us trust HIM. If we look at Him and walk towards HIM, death made pride will begin to sink us (a good sign of looking and walking towards God Christ). that we and we in our Church only look at God Christ, even in the noise of the storm, the persecution and even with gaps in our boat, that we only look at God Christ, in Him and only in Him we can trust

Beautiful. Thank you. I have such a different view of the temple. I always imagined it only being Joseph, Mary and the baby Jesus, yet now I see a temple with much going on. Standing and listening in awe... For we see the salvation and glory of GOD... Coming to the temple as is written in the law for the presentation of Jesus ... Why did GOD allow the redemption of this truth of this mystery today day 32 beginning of a new month. And having Simeon and Hanah to see the glory of GOD through the Holy Spirit... The Ascension Friars have been given special graces to explain what sometimes looks like we have heard it before... But listening to it again from some point of walking the 365 days... A commitment to being catechized and renewing in us that GOD is letting us know He is with us just like in the past. We can go out walk together in the faith
