Separating Hinduism from yoga is like separating a mother from her child. Every intricate part of yoga is deeply rooted in the Vedas and Upanishad. We have to understand that Hinduism has fundamental differences with Christianity. There is a clear rejection of material existence and an emphasis on unifying the individual soul with the supreme consciousness that is the Paramathma. The Sankhya, that talks about detaching oneself from fruits of actions and concentrating on his karma rather than for his own selfish needs is what stands at odds with Christianity. Christianity is fundamentally selfish in nature where by the devotees seeks all the love and affection from a higher being rather than realising that such love and affection are mere illusions that are fleeting and temporary. Yoga aims to detach the person from these illusions and make him equipped with tools to see the world the way it is. In Christianity, human being is the centre of the universe and everything else in his resource. In Hinduism, the individual is just one constituents of the infinitely large universe that has no beginning and has no end. And it is his lifelong in the world to get himself reunited with the universe which can also be called Paramathma In conclusion, I strongly believe that Christianity and Yoga are fundamentally different from each other and any attempt at making a christian yoga is a futile effort.

I really love the stained glass art you have in your yoga space. The way the colors have been set up creates a lung shape. I think this is a beautiful representation of Christ who is the Breath of Life.

Mother and child are still two very very separate human beings. Look at all of us Christians here doing "yoga" .. the love of Christ brought us all here!! Does that seem futile?? Perhaps some get hung up on the word "yoga" when in reality we all know this is just one big body stretch with our Lord God in mind. Moving my body I promise is NOT part of hinduism and it is the very furthest thing from my mind. God, community, thankful for healthy body that moves me!! XO

@@sidg856Christianity is all about the God who loves man enough to experience human frailty and to sacrifice his earthly life for us. Maybe from His perspective it is about us, but from our perspective it should be about Him. We are called to share this love with others. I don't understand Hinduism, so I'm not surprised you don't understand Christianity. I'm happy to learn more, though, just as I'm interested to learn about yoga.
@sangeetapawar-i1t3 ай бұрын
@@lenisemeeks4537 yeah but they are making their market by adding "Christianity" in it to hide its true origin and attracting people in the name of religion. As it belong to and is part of Hinduism(sanatan dharma) our spiritual Texts better describes it from simple to complex yog practice because a teacher know more about it's subject than his student. The first yogi or adi yogi is our supreme "Lord Shiv". And our Hindu god teaches us the importance of self enlightenment wisdom to know about the right or wrong doings ,solutions from life problems and the true meaning of life . Hinduism is an eternal religion not initiated by a human and will stay forever even at the end of multiverse. The "om" is a hindu chanting and even NASA discovered that this sound also echoes in the universe .In past years, Christian missionaries made fun of our yog practice,insulted our gods, deliberately converted people to Christianity to destroy the image of Hinduism but when they find something useful in our culture they secretly learn it take advantage and pretend that it's their own, and they were doing it for centuries.

I’ve been practicing with you for a couple years and have been delighted to enjoy these basics so much! I’ve been reminded of some things, and learned some that I hadn’t noticed before. But the BEST are these reminders of being rooted in Jesus. I carry words like these into the experiences of each day: “can you use your breath and the deep awareness of God’s presence to help bring stability” and “let each breath be a reminder that God is here with you.” I can feel those roots growing deeper!
