Most people don’t even get how much patience dedication and preparation goes into hunting . They think we run out in the woods an shoot shit an call it a day. If you do it right and eat and share the wild meat you kill it’s a beautiful process.

Yep, here in SE Illinois I had a group of methheads cut a 4wheeler trail right through my best spot two weeks before season opener. They were passing through all hours of the night and blew out the whole damn area. I went from getting nearly 100 trail cam pics a day of deer down to about 10 a week. The dope house they were traveling to and from was busted by the sheriff's department, but they'd already ran the deer out.

It’s different though. Hunting, it’s not always clear why it’s not coming together. Golf, it’s usually pretty clear. The confusion about gold comes when someone realizes they are spending a ton of time to walk around a manicured patch of grass to chase a little white ball.

@@easttexasfishin2439 Congratulations…good deer can be hard to come by. Please don’t think I’m a disgruntled fella…I’m in ANY hunter and anglers corner (as long as they aren’t hurting the sport). But is singing, cell phone noises, racking a bullet in a gun, and other loud non-woodsy noises helping? Probably not, and that’s my point…and that’s all. The week of the rut is so special because big bucks let their guard down, big bucks who usually will stay bedded or turn and sneak away at the first sound that isn’t natural. This whole series is hunting THOSE deer and playing everything right to catch them with their guard down. I just don’t understand the need for unnecessary noise in the woods is all. They talk about scent control but neglect other forms of self-awareness, but perhaps I’m being nit-picky. Personally, I’m hyper aware of everything I do once I step out of the truck. That’s my point really. I screw up, we all do. And…I don’t have a camera filming me either, but I guarantee I’d be whispering the entire time, even after I kill, to help keep my spots as undisturbed as possible. Again, congratulations on your buck and may you and your buddies get many more.

@easttexasfishin24393 жыл бұрын
I think its all about where youve been brought up hunting. Our family farm in Arkansas is 856 acres and so we’ve rarely had to deal with dogs that wernt ours and so it is frustrating when it happens and cells cams are just apart of the time changing in the world we have 5 cells cams and im blessed to be able to afford them but im bot blessed to be able to drive the 47miles from my house to the farm regularly and check cams yes ik people hate on cams but we have honestly seen a increase on the health and size of our bucks from being able to shoot the older ones and let the younger ones grow and live rather if we were unsure of whats out there we wouldn’t be able to pass a 140inch deer cause wed think its the only big one there however theres bigger and older that we want to get out the way. Everyone on the farm is allowed 1 buck only and it has to be 4.5-5.5 yr old and very mature and we process and eat everything we kill so dont think we are trophy hunting.

I'll probably get ostracized for this, but I think it would have been a better show if everyone is on public land. I like the show, but I'm such a public land junkie that I'd much rather see a guy shoot a 110 on public, then see Spencer gun down a 140 walking out of corn.
