Thank you Kino, at last I have found. Someone who is willing to teach others how to learn yoga from the ground upwards. It is such a refreshing change to find a teacher who is willing teach, there are far too many out there that are who just want to show off. It's a delight to learn from someone with a real gift for teaching. A.joy to learn from one with such skill and enthusiasm.

Just a note to say thank you for helping me advance my practice. My beautiful daughter Tanley was killed in March of 2016, with yoga I'm gaining both the physical and mental strength of acceptance.

Wow I've just stumbled upon your videos and I'm so happy! I was a dancer and practiced yoga daily for a number of years. Life circumstances and very poor mental health resulted in a complete cessation of most physical activity (and weight gain). My life is back on track however I've found it very difficult to get back into physical activity (the memory of my fit-thin- flexible self in contrast to my current reality is very depressing). Your yoga videos have really clicked with me - something about the delivery and the reminders to be kind to yourself makes yoga and physical activity fulfilling and joyful again. I'm on day 5 of your beginner challenging and I feel so very different. Instead of painful memories and negative comparisons to be previous self, I feel the beauty of strength returning - it no longer matters where I was before just where I am now. Thank you so much

Thanks for putting together this 30 day challenge. I thinks it's a great way for someone like me to get an introduction into yoga. I've become very out of shape. I imagined warrior one would be easy, but it actually challenges me in many ways that I never thought I would have any difficulty with. I think it's good for me to start small like this so I can improve one thing at a time.

These are excellent, thank you. If I may ask ...I'd love to see a beginner or intermediate practitioner, performing side by side with you. I know you suggest modifications for people that can't do certain things, for example bringing heels down (in down dog), but it would be interesting to see the two extremes juxtaposed. I learn both from watching perfection as well as watching those struggling (folks like me). I frequently see you do things that I'm a few years away from achieving (chest on ground in puppy pose). Keep up the phenomenal work (and if you need a beginner for your videos, contact me...LOL).

I agree. This series is indeed excellent. I also came across Yoga For Dummies 1and 2 on youtube. The instructor shows you how to do the basic poses with modifications.

Thanks for the videos!!! Do you have any advice for placing you feet the correct distance apart? I often have to reset my feet to be farther apart so that I can sink lower into the pose. I have a lot of leg strength from soccer, cycling, and running but maybe I'm lacking some flexibility?

+Hillary Marshall Place the feet about the distance of one of your own leg's length apart. The distance should be adjusted based on your size, not uniform for everyone.

+jackbristow If you can do 50% of the exercises that's a great start. I couldn't really do any when I first started. In yoga, do not expect to do everything just because it's beginner. In yoga, expect a comfortable challenge that you can work on while continuing your practice.

You don't need to. Each day is meant to be an independent practice on its own. But if you have more energy you can always repeat a class that needed a little extra work :)

Hi Kino, thanks for the videos. My question: do u recommend any particular poses for opening the hamstrings? I have been off asana practice for a year as a result of a back injury. This videos r great because I can have "beginner's mind" and work on regaining one or two poses at a time. However I am tight in my back body as a result of the injury hiatus and cannot even extend my legs in downward dog (which feels very weird b/c I'm hyperflexible). If u can suggest a safe, not 2 deep stretch it might help.

+Shelley Mermaid So sorry about your injury and hope that you're on the road to recovery soon! Meanwhile bend your knees as needed in eery forward fold. If downward dog is too intense then go for puppy pose until the injury heals.
