IMPORTANT! You should be walking against the traffic, if you walk in the same direction you cannot see the traffic coming up behind you. They are not expecting you it is dark, and you don't seem to wear the fluorescent vest. Walk against the traffic, if a car is about to hit you you have the possibility to jump towards the hedge. Secondly, but I presume you do have this... are you connected localisated with someone? Via whatsapp or otherway, just in case you faint or somethg else , you can be found.

If your feet get wet. You must stop, dry them put your dry socks on and a spare pair of shoes. Chilblains are a nightmare and if youre getting sick. Thats a no no ! Always have a spare pair of dry warm socks and shoes. No shortcuts at night. Well done rest up! Sleep in a T-shirt if youre getting sick. Vicks rub on the chest.

Bears are not active in the winter. Think about street or farmers dogs on the Balkans. Have some dog treats in your pocket or get a pepper spray. Between Serbia and Bulgaria there is a little mountain you have to cross I can research about some huts or shelters you can use . I recommend planning walking through the bright part of the day. Any troubles in Bulgaria I am happy to support you although I am in the UK

Sorry another question…….did you wild camp in France at any point because I’ve heard they are strict on setting up a tent on any public or private land? Just because I’m thinking of walking from UK down to south of France. Thanks
