I learned something very important this week in Job. Sit in silence when someone is mourning. Speak only when they want you to speak. Give no advice unless you truly have been where they are.

That’s amazing… And it’s truly to fill the need of that person which honestly may change from moment to moment. Thanks for pointing that out… and a great reminder as my little office team deals with more and more loss. Having been through it, I offer unsolicited advice sometimes … yet an opportunity to listen more, when someone just needs/wants to be heard. Thank you Susie for sharing what God has highlighted for you (and us)!

This reading helped me understand that there is a purpose for all I have been through and continue to go through. I just want my old life back, before cancer. But what if God needs to use the, after cancer me. Whom am I to question Him. Job has really taught me that every cell of my being comes from God. As a crafter I know what I put into my projects and I care about them. Sharing with my customers how to care for their jewelry. God created me. He knows how to care for me, guide me and keep me. Yup I'm gonna be ok, maybe not by man's opinions but by God's declaration. "Ye thou I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff comfort me.." Its time I get wrapped in comfort. Amen

Hello , reading Job has help me rejoice in my struggles. And understanding that i am to rely on GOD. I've been trying to get closer go GOD and hear his voice. Im trying to become a better person a better mom and not judge people. In 2023 I've found myself meeting people who didn't want the best for me and only wanted to take. Ive lost so much. And decided to turn to GOD. I've always believed in him i just never had a close relationship with him. Reading the bible with you has given me peace and a new life on life. Thank you so much 🙏🏽

I chuckled at ch 13:5 (My bible is She Reads Truth Christian Standard) it says, "If only you would shut up and let that be your wisdom!" Yes, Job!! That shall be my verse when needed haha! So proud that he is standing up for himself even though he does at times go back and forth but that is the human side of us. How many times have we let our friends sway our thinking? Enjoy your family! You deserve it!!

I am playing catch up. But Job has really struck a cord with me. I am recovering from severe Covid right now while battling some other undiagnosed health issues. Covid has gone into my lungs & actually thought I might die a couple of the nights. Through this God has shown me a few things. One is that I need to step up my life of gratitude. Our God is so good! This study was amazing, so glad I found your page! Been reading the beginning of Job but actually getting to study it was so helpful because I did not understand what was going on at first. So interesting how during a time of trouble, your friends can switch up on you so fast. The friends were also very deceiving in the beginning as they wept and mourned for Job for 7 days. I think its also interesting to know that we've all been in the friends position too at one time, but its so good that now we have the Holy Spirit to help change and renew our minds and hearts daily.

Job has family and friends coming against him. I'm feeling that too. People in my family have put me down since I have started going to church. I got saved in april and joined a church. Please pray for me and pray for the people in my family that are bitter towards me. I know I must stay with the Lord even when it feels like people are coming against me.

I always try to pay attention not only to the information in the video but also the thought questions at the end. Personally, I feel to truly study you need both. I'm so glad that you add these in. Where am I putting my hope? In God fully 100% I believe having hope in him can lead to the fixing of things in my life than I'm also hoping or hopeful for. Like for over a year I had been hoping we would find a vehicle, and I hadn't been putting hope in God in the earlier parts of this situation before I started putting my hope where it needed to be. Do you know that the "worldly" necessity I was hoping for was placed at our doorstep so speak today. The down payment was accepted yesterday and tomorrow or Tuesday we'll have a vehicle. I hope you can understand what I am trying to say. How does Job help me through my situations? I'm going to leave this one blank for right now because I'm not sure how to answer it yet.

Thank you for another awesome study Kanoe 😊 LOVE “Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him…” 13:15 Sometimes I might be helpless, but I am never hopeless…get it…NeverHopeless? 😅 A huge thing for me in these chapters was the act of compassion, the fact that we should all practice compassion before passing judgement on others, or attempting to give advice to someone if we haven’t been in their shoes or experienced what they are going through. And for those of us that are suffering, I put this quote in my December journal pertaining to my husband (he has a chronic pain disorder) “One day you will tell your story of how you’ve overcome what you are going through and it will become part of someone else’s survival guide.” Hope begets hope 🕊 Have a blessed sabbath 😊

Day 6 here! Horray for Job!! I was so proud to see him stand up against his friends and show the strength that was always there 🙏🏻🥳 I have only recently learned, after moving from Georgia to California 3 years ago, how important it is to be able to stand up for yourself and against people speaking untruths or just mean spirited. In Georgia I was brought up to be a sweet southern woman who doesn’t disagree, go against the grain, and doesn’t speak up often. Moving to california and being introduced to an entirely new set of people with upbringings and societal points of views was a craaazzyyy shock to me! I cried almost every time someone spoke to me, I felt it was so harsh. I’ve learned what the appropriate amount of respect is and how to speak up when someone is treating me unfairly, but I say all this to say, most importantly I appreciate that Job is standing up for himself WITH God. He doesn’t need to lie, persuade, or teach while he speaks his mind. He knows Gods sees and feels what’s brought him to this point and to speak up with the comfort of God beside you, I feel, is a better lesson learned than anything his friends had to say! I am anxious for the sabbath day tomorrow, it’s hard to sit down and be still long enough to study. Do you have any advice on how to incorporate Bible study into your sabbath day? I‘be tried independent study with Genesis but I put too much pressure on myself to interpret everything the right way and get the right notes down on paper. We will see how it goes, I’m excited but nervous! Thank you for this opportunity 🙏🏻 see you in 2 days 🤗🥳

Mahalo! I felt the same way as you did with the lineage of sin. I have been telling that to my nieces and nephews that with hope they will be to break the curse. Sadly I felt the curse was not broken. And they are the 4th generation. So the curse applies to them as well. Thanks for the insight of the subscriber that indeed Jesus has changed all that. I remember the verse when Jesus was healing a lame man during the Sabbath… he really changed the OT laws.

As Christians God admonishes that our words should minister grace to others even when wrong doing is seen, we are not to judge but in love correct. Job’s friends were a bonus weapon the devil was utilizing in his attempt to cause Job to be hateful towards God. It’s a good thing Job not only knew God as Creator or Righteous Judge but he started knowing God as a Good Father.

KEY TAKEAWAYS - Job is still upset, confused, and complaining to God about his situation (Job 10:1-7) - Job's "friend" #3, Zophar, speaks and essentially says it's Job's fault that all of this is happening and to repent (Job 11) - Job responds to Zophar and tells him that God has the ultimate control. "What He tears down cannot be rebuilt..." (Job 12:14) - Job has had enough of speaking with his "friends" and says he's going straight to the source - God himself. He asks God where did he go wrong and if this punishment is a result of his sin from his former and younger days. (Job 13:20-28)

Do you think that generational curse’s still exist for the non-believers?

The curses were broken at the cross. However, that does not mean that we are free from the influence of our parents/grandparents/ancestors choices or behaviors. We can easily fall under the same influences by choice which would then make it seem as though you were under the same curse. We may also be predisposed to certain genetics but this is not a curse. We are free under the New Covenant.
