Day 6 | P&O Cruise | Ventura | Gran Canaria | Lunch Buffet | Saffron restaurant | 2018

This video is day 6 of our cruise, we arrived in Gran Canaria and we walked around the small town area near to the ship and did a bit of shopping. Hope you enjoy watching:)

Some nice food in the buffet. Do they often do Indian food? and nice to see a few fish dishes as I love my fish. I am a real salad person so good to see the salads. Would you say there is plenty of salad options? Also I noticed on the Princess line they have a bowl of prawns. Do P & O have those in the buffet as my ideal lunch meal would be prawns or chicken with a nice salad mix :) I am not so much a dessert person although I do like my cheesecake. I am more fresh fruit and yoghurt and that yoghurt cake looked good. Was it nice? I see a lot of videos of people piling their plates with the roast dinner stuff and to be honest much of it has not looked the greatest. Roast is something I would prefer to get in the dining rooms. So it was nice to see your selections as they both looked good. Also did you ever use the grab and go outside on deck as some have said the little salads there are really nice? I love the videos when people show some of the food as I am a foodie and food would be a big part of the experience for me.

L Mac we would say there is always plenty of salad in the buffet to choose from and they often have seafood near it and cold meats! There is nearly always a fish dish everyday in the buffet and in the main restaurant there is always fish on the menu so you will be fine with that. There is always fresh fruit and yoghurts too! We used the grab and go on our Britannia cruise and it was really nice! We also love food and is a big part of our holiday so that’s why we show it as it is something we would like to see if we were watching a video! Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching xx

@@MattAndKelly Hi thanks for your reply. I have spoken with P & O as I want to bring a small portable one cup mini blender with me to make smoothies. I was told this shouldn't be a problem.They seem to be more concerned about electrical appliances with a heating element. I will check again closer to the time as I am not the type of person to try to smuggle something not allowed on board. Fruit and yoghurt from the buffet, voila I can enjoy what I enjoy :) . Not a deal breaker but it would be nice. I will be taking my mini cafetiere which I know, not being an electronic, is allowed not just with P & O but other cruiselines so I can have my daily intake of coffee. I did double check on this. I don't drink tea and hate instant coffee so it is important to me to relax and enjoy a fortnight cruise. I am thinking of perhaps taking a cruise next year but it depends on finances. However for me the food experience will be a big part of it for me as I am a bit of a foodie. Thanks again for replying to my questions :)

Loved you vlogs.Going on my 1st cruise ever on the Iona to the Canaries later this year ..excited! What is your opinion on the drink packages £40 per day seems a lot, i didn’t notice if you made any comments on this.

Hi, and thanks for watching ... we never get the drinks package as we would never get the moneys worth out of it as it is expensive in our opinion unless you can drink that much alcohol in a day, we only usually spend about £30/40 of drinks between us as we only drink in the evening! Drinks are usual pub prices pretty much if that helps you decide! Iona looks amazing so have an absolutely amazing time and don’t forget to subscribe 👍🏻😆 xx

Im going on a first cruise next year going to some of the places you have shown here, I love beaches and see you were able to walk to the beach in Las palma , how far would you say it was ( I have a disability and walk with a walker, I dont mind a walk and would take my time by stopping along the way if its some distance. I want to make sure i would have time to walk it and get back to the boat on time because i would be slow..Thanks in advance. xx
