excellent video Abhishek. I have two questions. 1) In real life, different environment are actually different subscriptions. EG prod will have its own subscriptions and so will dev and test. How to incorporate this in the code? 2) As we keep adding the resources in an environment, where do we maintain the code?
@Pubba_Ай бұрын
1. use workspaces along with backend configuration and variables to ensure that each environment has its own isolated resources and credentials. 2. As your infrastructure grows, break down your Terraform code into reusable modules. Create separate directories for each environment within your repository. Store all configurations in a Git repository

Hi @AbhishekVeeramalla: general question, Resource created by terraform (EC2), if we update something manually on EC2 will it throw any error while we execute terraform again for any other update? because manually update change will not be available in state file right?
@sushantvikas712510 ай бұрын
First of all it is not a good practice to update infrastructure manually. But if you have updated anything manually from console then you have to use terraform import command after adding the syntax in main.tf file. Once you apply import command it will update the state file with current state of infrastructure.

Now if tstate.file exists will it not.modify the existing intsance instead of adding 2 more??
@ngahnkarakwi47993 ай бұрын
If I understand correctly, you're wondering how to create multiple resources with the same configurations using the same Terraform module, you can simply copy the existing module block for the resource, paste it, and then update the module's name while keeping the source unchanged. This approach will allow you to create additional resources with the same configurations without overwriting or deleting the existing ones. don't know if this helps
