Did he say “certainly nobody cares” in terms of McLaughlin’s injury??? Someone please tell me I misunderstood that remark.

In general, nobody cares. The football game itself does not care. Injuries are part of the game. Next man up Indiana doesn’t care but we care buckeye nation cares let’s go.

He obviously means that most of our fans and certainly national media and other people judging us cares if we lost Seth. They expect OSU to have someone ready to go and if not that's on them. There will be no consideration for this esp since he's out for the year.

He has said this for a while in other situations too. He’s gone into more context in other clips. What he is saying is that the game of football is still going to be played on Saturday at noon and nobody cares about your injuries or excuses. The scoreboard doesn’t take any of that stuff into account. He said it more eloquently earlier this week referencing Carnell Tate’s mother being murdered. He said “The game of football doesn’t care, but WE care.” That is what he meant here.

@ I was hoping there was something I was missing with that. He also said it quickly and almost in passing, so I wasn’t sure he was even talking about Seth when he said it. The team adapting, and moving on with their next-man up mentality is a very good thing. We shouldn’t ever be held hostage to anyone position (short of maybe the QB) but when he said it, I thought it sounded a bit callus….at least in that context. Especially, given that the fans can have a VERY similar attitude towards Day’s “big-game”. But, alas…it sounds like there was nothing to it.
