The best thing about this video is Ken. Great guy. Spent the best part of his life serving the community. After retirement he’s still serving the community. Thank you Ken for you many years of hard work. Why can’t people like Ken be knighted? Maybe he hasn’t got a giant yard to walk around but he serves the public and deserves commendation.

Whilst in theory this is a nice idea the breakdown between police and the common man is a necessary step to attaining freedom - they are a criminal enterprise operating under the guise of law enforcement. 10:30 And this is where the receptionist turned from helpful to unhelpful. Stating "Don't worry about it" to the retired police officer who is volunteering his free time to help man the museum as if he should not bother his pretty little head with such matters as knowing who to report for because the receptionist handled it all herself and told the (probably high ranking) officer to disappear so she could cover for him. Makes you wonder if they were having an affair - it's a fairly reasonable and logical assumption to make.

Who remembers when you could buy a scanner and openly listen to the police comms? True story: I had one in the 90's, and we were standing outside a spar, trying to get someone to go in and buy us some alcohol, and there was an unmarked car trying to hide in the car park, with 4 plod in it, openly discussing the situation on the police radio. We eventually got one of our other mates to walk past, and we pretended to hand him money. He then went in to the shop and bought a bag full of space raiders, then he came out and handed it to us, and the police pounced on him once he got down the road a bit. You can imagine the hilarity that ensued?

A very telling and informative posting that AB. Above all I think it illustrates how things have changed from Ken’s time in the force compared to today. Ken was genuinely shocked when you explained you’d been mistreated and badly spoken to by a serving officer prior to your entry to the museum (jese he even locked you out). Despite this, they still wouldn’t let it go, clearly having spoken to Ken and then following you after your departure and trying to lecture you! I find it most distressing and disturbing that we seem to have a power crazed police force in the UK who appear to have little or no respect for the public and their rights (surely clearly illustrated by recent high profile events). I just don’t understand anymore what type of people we have serving in the police. Certainly not normal members of civilised society?

I really hope someone shows Ken this video and he gets to read the nice comments about him, it's a shame but every interaction between law abiding citizens and police should have a similar theme of respect and helpfulness but they are clearly not. Good ol boy for having the intentions of finding the officer that wasn't very respectful aswell.

the guy that told you that the Hungerford Massacre was a tragedy as officers were shot just shows the contempt they have for the public! He forgot that many people that werent police were shot on that day! Sickening blue line

4:05 "The force police museum isn't for the members of the public who don't work here". As AB says, *liar* and proof that he's a police constable since they are trained to lie. And as for the members of the public who don't work here part, other than it would have been better said as only police staff can visit, it's proof that he sees himself as separate from the public which is totally against the Peelian Principles which is that the public are the police and the police are the public.

It doesn't matter where you go in modern Britain - businesses, public sector buildings, private ones etc - you don't act; you're acted upon. You're treated as if you are guilty of something, and that you're not welcome.

@@lucidmoment71 it started years ago, the gradual erosion of rights through emergency powers the thatcher....well not just them, governments brought in for miners strikes at that time, once they got away with one thing it didn't take long for them. We the public allowed it to happen until the likes of AB who has a knack of seeing through each and everyone of the oppressors....the tyrants. Going shopping with AB must be a nightmare, you would never get done!

They can challenge in a friendly way, like the guy at the end. No need for hostility. A museum open to the public and a guy with a camera, what a surprise. They need to re-site the museum. Its like having one room only open to the public, in the middle of MI5, or like encouraging American tourists to come, then barring the wearing white ankle socks, sandals, brimmed hats, Bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirts and cameras with a neck strap! Ken was a joy and likely worked in SOCO long before DNA usage commenced in the 80s. He would have some stories to tell.
