OMG...I cannot believe that I've finally found this sitcom ...threw good ole you tube...right from the star of Seinfeld I just knew that I knew the Elaine character from somewhere else. I am a Seinfeld love and watch all 9 seasons never figuring out where I knew her from then it hit me that this sitcom came a little bit before Seinfeld and that's where I first met my girl Julia Louie Drey

This is one of those sitcoms which, although short-lived was quite well-remembered for its cast, some of whom went on to big things and for one particular episode. The Brady Bunch episode is of great historical value. It featured some of the Brady cast playing up their original 70s-era fashions and cliches. Also, cast member Christopher Daniel Barnes, who dreams he's a long-lost Brady relative would eventually go on to play the role of Greg Brady in the Brady Bunch movies.

I also recognized some names behind the scenes as well. Co-creator and executive producer Andy Borowitz would later co-create and co-executive produce "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", with his wife, Susan, whilst the other co-creator, Gary David Goldberg, was also creator and executive producer of "Family Ties" as well as co-creator and co-executive producer of "Spin City."

I don't know how I remember this...I was 17 when this aired.I remember an episode where the son had a smarmy little girlfriend, who made a derogatory comment about attorneys, and misquoted Shakespeare, and the mom,(who was a lawyer) absolutely ROASTED her with the precise wording of Shakespeare famous "First thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers".Cute show, great theme song.

Finally found this show. Id wondered about its name for a long time. I couldn't find it because of 3 mistakes with my memory. 1. I thought it was Alan Thicke that starred. He looks a lot like him. 2. I thought it had Finola Hughes in it but she was in Blossom. and 3. I thought the sons name was Brian instead of the lead guy. Damn memory. So nice to finally figure out what it was.

One entire minute for the intro, lol. I miss those old "videotape" sitcoms with the special theme song written just for the show. I wish more of these lesser-known sitcoms from the 80s were available to watch. I especially liked "Double Trouble" with the Seagal twins and My Sister Sam which had such a great ensemble cast, including the late Rebecca Schaeffer as Patty; she wanted to be a dramatic actress but she had great comedic talent too.

The most common version of this tune is a ballad. The singer is a church/gospel girl and she kills it. Most props to the arranger for hearing the tune this way. I love the song because of the chromatic leading tones. A jazz players playground.

I recall the show (I was 11), but not as fondly as The Days & Nights of Molly Dodd. That show was screwed worse, probably because it had no laugh-track and people of the 80s needed cues when to react. Anyway, who sang this? The voice seems familiar, but I can't identify it. Vera Brown? (My best guess)

A year later "Day by Day" has aired on both networks - Lifetime and Nick at Nite after the dismissal of both creators/executive producers Gary David Goldberg & Andy Borowitz and its production company, UBU Productions as well as the departure of the original cast and crew were all let go for two years on NBC, now things were about to changed for the better to make something fresh and new for today's audiences. And finally they did for "Day by Day" - one of TV's most popular syndicated sitcoms of all time. Aired in the summer/fall of 1989 with rave reviews that helped make this show an wonderful experience. It was solely produced and distributed by CBS Paramount Domestic Television, a Viacom Company for Nick at Nite in 1989 and Warner Bros Pictures, a Time Warner Company for Lifetime in 2004.
