Material wise this neighborhood does not have much. But the sense of community is strong. In the US people rarely know their neighbors even living next door to each other for years.

Tondo is one of the safest n friendliest district of Manila....like the wild , wild west of the USA long time ago, Tondo has long since overcome its bad image n is though a poor district , it is a safe and friendly place for tourists to visit....

Even doing a " tagay" ( having a shot in a 1 glass). curious question, don't you get food poisoned? because some foreigners who were not use to the food and drinks get ill easily.
