Superior announcing! “CAMPIONE DEL MONDO!!” for Viviani. He knows the sport. Hard to announce Madison but he did a great job. Very exciting. Germany’s women basically crushed everyone. And speaking of crushing, how about the Dutch male sprinters? Really great to see Michael Morkov take another World Championship-wish more World Tour guys would race on the track.

Congratulations to all of them! It’s nice to see track racing. It’s my favorite type of racing to watch. Unlike road racing which can be a sight seeing tour for the first half of a lot of races, track racing gets right to the point, right away.

in the first race note the slight bump on the bars (equivalent to where brake hoods would be on a road bike). this allowed her an aero position on the longer race. very interesting. first time i have seen this... although i don't get a lot of track race viewing in

Besides team pursuit, elimination race and scratch should be the long-distance track events at the Olympics! Madison and points race (part of Omnium) are chaotic and difficult to follow!

The USA invented the Madison and we can’t even field a team in the finals! Embarrassing.

Anyone wonder what is the deal with Dutch cycling in recent years? Whether it be men’s or woman’s racing, road or track or cyclocross, Dutch riders seem so often to be at the front, in the medals, often winning, and even dominating. Why is that? What is the Dutch secret sauce?

Talent
@tomw08152 жыл бұрын
@@FenceThis Talent is not enough. Talent does not win medals. You need to discover a talent, offer training facilities and support. A talent goes through a long development phase to become a world class athlete that wins medals. Some countries are good in discovering talents and in the development phase.

Tom Wiesemann yea I know. Talent and all the possible expertise and care taking environment in every aspect. They have a solid and institutionalized cycling culture and tradition like their Belgian neighbors.

What do you think... Whenever a team/country consistently overachieves it's a very easy question to answer mate.

Always driving in circles, just as boring as Formula 1 with only more horsepower

But Formula 1 doesn't run in circles. NASCAR does and that's boring !
