I wash all our dishes by hand too! And every meal is from scratch. One thing that has made things much easier is I fill 1 side of the sink with soapy water early in the day and put any dishes that accumulate throughout the day in there and wash intermittently, as I am able. Saves water and nothing gets stuck. Super easy! I prefer it over having a dishwasher

Last year for Valentine’s Day my daughter and daughter in law plus their three kids came over to eat with me and my three (I have custody’s of 4of my grandchildren, the oldest of which is 19 and now spends weekdays with his dad and mom). We had heart shaped pizza for dinner and I made a fun snack board with all kinds of cookies and candy and small treats. The kids got to fill treat bags with items off the board. This year we are doing heart shaped pizzas again along with heart shaped pasta salad and heart shaped chicken nuggets for the little ones. I found a few heart shaped cheeses and have picked up some valentine treats. I bought valentine inspired socks for the older kids and a heart shaped Disney surprise box for the little ones. My daughter is bringing more goodies to add to the snack tray. I found all the above items at Aldi this week. Pizzas went in the freezer to stay fresh.

I am a mama who washes her dishes by hand! Always have, always will as I grew up with a dishwasher and hated it. It never made sense to me to rinse dishes off to only put them in the dishwasher and hope they got clean, lol. I find it relaxing and a good way to spend quality time with the kiddos as well as they love to help. As for Valentine's Day I get them a card and something inexpensive to go with it❤

My daughters wear only skirts and dresses and they wear lined tights, leggings, wool tights, and even thermal underwear. They also wear bootie style slippers with their tights to protect the soles and stay warm. I know many women that have never worn pants, some choose to wear long skirts, mostly thick denim. In the past I wore wool skirts to stay warm too, though I wonder if you could even find wool skirts today. If nothing else find a neutral pair of bootie slippers to keep warm and still look cute 😊

Our dishwasher was the same way. Nothing was legitimately broken, but a wash cycle didn't result in clean dishes so we've been handwashing since Jan. 2022 or was it 2021? It's been a long time. There are four of us in the washing rotation and I write the names on the calendar. It's been working well for us and I do enjoy the warm water and slow down of just washing dishes.

I wash by hand too.. little suggestion to give your children a little responsibility by teaching them to wash their breakfast and lunch dishes and how to wipe down the table. My girls do these small chores and it helps lighten the load on me. So after dinner at a certain time I wash and tidy up the kitchen and house but it’s not overwhelming because some of the dishes are already done from earlier. Part of learning is how to take care of housework.

Tabitha!! So great to see a new video. I had a question, I understand your oldest goes to private school due to the arrangement with her father. But you also mentioned her personality being another reason she thrives in school. Could you share a bit about the personality type? I ask because I’ve homeschooled my boys and in this season they are attending public school and my oldest son loves it and does not wish to be homeschooled. I struggle with that a lot. But wonder if him going to school is a better fit for him than homeschooling.

Super random question but what size Berkey do you have and how often do you have to change filters? I just did the math and we spend about $992 Oh gallons of water each year 😮 curious if the price of the Berkey plus filters would be about the same, more or less!

It’s a 6 gallon! There biggest one! I haven’t changed the filters yet. We don’t use it for all water anymore now that we aren’t on city water. You’d have to change them more often if you’re putting city water in it
