Hello, Barbara! I know you like helpful kitchen tools. I highly recommend a deli slicer to cut uniform fruit slices for dehydrating or freeze-drying. I have an inexpensive one that I use for that purpose. I also use it to slice cheese, homemade vegan deli meat for myself; and whole turkey breasts for my omnivore family. Thanks for talking about how valuable mental health support has been for you.

Thanks. Is it the same as a mandoline? If not, send me link or picture to what you have!

Girl great minds work the same……I made a ton of applesauce and diced up onions, bell peppers and lots of celery for freezer storage. I agree with ya I love having produce already sliced and diced up for cooking ~ super convenient having it ready to use . A food processor is another game changer for our kitchens. Ok Im calling it a night. Be Blessed and have a wonderful week ahead. Ms J and Sophie.

Hi Barbara! First, Thanks for talking about Better Health. Ive debated a few times if i should check it out. I dont know if Ive "recovered" from caring for 2 family members and have wondered about some kind of therapy to help move forward. I may check them out. Second, have you ALREADY sharde a video about canning the ted beans for red beans and rice? I thought you mentioned it in this video so came back to watch again. I LovE GOOD red beans and rice and have a canner that needs a couple extra jars for a full load and thought id try your recipe, but i can't find one, lol. Next tome!

Yes definitely check out Better Help-it is wonderful! No I have not done a video on that yet. But interesting you bring up because I am literally canning red beans as we speak.

Hi Mrs. Barbara - I'm wondering if you would sell freeze dried products.....
@AGardenersJourneyHomestead8 күн бұрын
Hey there! I have thought about it but still in the thinking phase and prayer on that. I now wish I would have gotten a larger freeze dryer!

Hey Barbara. I'm curious, do you know how the oxygen absorbers would work with vaccum sealing beans instead of using mylar bags?
@AGardenersJourneyHomestead8 күн бұрын
No I do not. I have never tried or heard about it. I have used oxygen abosrbers when I have stored beans in a mason jar and seal them.
@sitsngigglesful3 күн бұрын
Tina, I am pretty sure I just watched a video yesterday by From Scratch Homestead about long term preserving their harvest and I am 93.7% sure (lol) that they said they put their dried beans in vacuumed sealed jars with an oxygen absorber. It was a recent video of theirs and I think they did the beans near the late middle. I've got some small bags that I want to vacuum seal and I was going to try it because of what I had seen there.
@AGardenersJourneyHomestead2 күн бұрын
@@sitsngigglesful Yes you can definitly vacuum seal them in mason jars.

@AGardenersJourneyHomestead awesome! I have oxygen absorbers in my Amazon cart right now. I just needed to research what size so I am really glad you spoke about that in this video as well!
