I’m currently working on a Medical record degree. I feel like it will help get more cash to pay for my degree. I didn’t know what I was really doing . Now I’m super excited because I would love to do this much . My advisor told me to this program it fits me best. I understand why he told me this. I always said I wish I can get paid to study. Meaning I just like sitting in an office , in my own head, working with paper and so on . Thank you hun for sharing ❤️

I’m interning at a Peds office and its very intimate similar to this one. They are also still on paper records. I can see that an HIT/HIM would also perform office manager duties UNLESS solely coding charts. The smaller offices usually contract out for coders billers.

I can see that finding the charts you need to pull makes it easier to find since you have color coded alphabetic labels. Does your office also have electronic files for each patient? How does that work? Does the doctor enter information into the manila folder and then you type up what is written down and put it into the electronic record? Is it a hybrid method of some things in manila folder and some things in the computer or is everything in both? Do you use the first three letters of the patient last name to place on the folder? Or just the first two?

Hi!!! I've been trying to find a video on filing medical health records. I'm currently in college and am learning how to create, organize, and file color-coded files. I have a procedure example in my textbook, but I'm a visual learner and could really use a video on how to label, where to place the label, where to place the allergy label, and where to place the registration form and progress sheets. Could really use a good mentor. If you can make a video on this that would be so helpful or direct me to another KZbin video that deals with this because I couldn't find anything.

Why not use numerical methods that one deals with numbers because using alphabetical filing method will be quite difficult for you when you want to do retrieval of the file
