i am a week away from swearing in. when you go off to basic are u gone for months consistently or do you go back home when needed?

So when you go to basic, you’re there 10weeks straight no home and then usually you go straight to AIT after for another couples months ( exact time depends on your MOS)

I will never understand why anyone would wanna be a 92y id kill myself, like while all your friends are out in the field shooting shit jumping out of helicopters and doing CQB you’re gonna be stuck in a office counting shit and doing inventory. PLUS national guard like Holly shit 💀if you’re gonna serve then at least have a fun job where you can get out and have a career, like go Infantry so you can get out and be a body guard or do private security shit and travel the world. What job would a 92y line you up for? A wearhouse manager maybe?

how intense was boot camp for you? it seems very intense but your job seems very chill.

Oh basic training I was definitely fighting for my life. Very intense physically and mentally but once weeks go by, you get used to it and start making friends and going through the motion together which makes it sooo much Easier. But once you graduate the army life is different fsss, still some bs but overall light work🤣

Where do you live as a National Guard soldier? Do you live in a hotel, apartment, or on the barracks.

When you’re National Guard you’re not required to live anywhere you don’t want you but HOME! Me, for example, I live at home or on my college campus I live a regular life that’s the really cool thing about national guard😝

The only times you would be required to live somewhere specific is if you’re on a deployment or on a special mission that requires you to relocate but other than that we live home! Being NG is literally still being a full-time civilian just having duties once a month!

He got a shaving profile. I believe some people use religion as an excuse and also skin problems when shaving too frequently so you can definitely try one of those !! If you look online, there’s definitely someone with some concrete advice on how they got theirs shaving profile!
