It's cool to see the contrast between a D1 athlete's day and a student's day. The athlete's discipline is impressive, juggling both training and studying. It really shows their dedication. And the student is doing his best despite some challenges, which is commendable. College life can be tough, but they're both making the most of it. Respect to both of them! 🙌📚🏋‍♂ #CollegeLif

Man the biggest thing I hated about college was having to work my part time job. Literally ruined any opportunity for extracurriculars. Join a club, an extra class, research, etc would always be met with: “cant, gotta work”. Im not blaming them but I would always think how nice it would be to actually focus entirely on my studies and/or enjoy college life without having to make money.

I work full time and taking 15 credits this semester. I have literally no time to socialize, attend events, or participate in any clubs. I'm grateful I can afford college, but sometimes I also wish I could have a normal university experience. But in reality, just remember most students are in huge debt and their going to face that burden once they graduate.

I got a lot respect for the athlete because it shows how he has not been handed everything. Not saying the student has, but he wakes up every day and works hard whilst doing extra to meet the minimum of a lot of students' lifestyles. Ex. he got a ride from someone to his class, so he might not have a car. He turned in his phone for a laptop, so he doesn't have one. Little things like that make me proud that he still strives to get as much grind in as he can every day. edit - i know he could have a car and i know he could have a computer but y’all get the point about recognizing students who might have less advantage

This is an unfair comparison. Should be comparing the D1 athlete with a "D1 student", someone who goes to a top tier school and worked their ass off to get there. Edit: for those who don’t understand what I mean by “D1 student”, the best way I can reiterate this is that only about 2% of high school athletes go D1, so in theory they are the top 2% of student athletes. Isn’t it only fair that the top 2% of student-athletes should be compared to some of the top 2% of students in the country(“D1 students”)?

Good on you bro. I’m not premed by any means but here’s mine for comparison. Life of a college student who also works full time in the oil and gas industry? 3:45 am wake up, get ready, eat, shower and what not. 4:30 am go to the gym (sometimes I definitely do skip the gym) 5:30 am head to work. Work all day no real breaks and no real lunch. Just whatever you have time for. 6 pm get off (most of the time) and head home swap vehicles change clothes shower and eat depending on time. 7pm night class until 11pm (only three times a week). When I don’t have night class I’m trying to get caught up on online class work. And repeat until the weekend. On the weekend if I’m not on call working then I’m catching up on online school. Going for two associates which yeah I know isn’t that impressive because I’m sure most of you are going to be doctors or whatever you say but it’s something considering I never wanted to go to college. I’m not trying to shame people away from this rough lifestyle because I’ve gotten through college debt free live in my own place and I’ve exceeded everyone’s including my own expectations. ALSO THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH COMMUNITY COLLEGE!!!!
