I work full time and taking 15 credits this semester. I have literally no time to socialize, attend events, or participate in any clubs. I got a lot respect for the athlete because it shows how he has not been handed everything. Not saying the student has, but he wakes up every day and works hard whilst doing extra to meet the minimum of a lot of students' lifestyles. Ex. he got a ride from someone to his class, so he might not have a car. He turned in his phone for a laptop, so he doesn't have one. Little things like that make me proud that he still strives to get as much grind in as he can every day. edit - i know he could have a car and i know he could have a computer but y’all get the point about recognizing students who might have less advantage

This is an unfair comparison. Should be comparing the D1 athlete with a "D1 student", someone who goes to a top tier school and worked their ass off to get there. Edit: for those who don’t understand what I mean by “D1 student”, the best way I can reiterate this is that only about 2% of high school athletes go D1, so in theory they are the top 2% of student athletes. Isn’t it only fair that the top 2% of student-athletes should be compared to some of the top 2% of students in the country(“D1 students”)?

Good on you bro. I’m not premed by any means but here’s mine for comparison. Life of a college student who also works full time in the oil and gas industry? 3:45 am wake up, get ready, eat, shower and what not. 4:30 am go to the gym (sometimes I definitely do skip the gym) 5:30 am head to work. Work all day no real breaks and no real lunch. Just whatever you have time for. 6 pm get off (most of the time) and head home swap vehicles change clothes shower and eat depending on time. 7pm night class until 11pm (only three times a week). When I don’t have night class I’m trying to get caught up on online class work. And repeat until the weekend. On the weekend if I’m not on call working then I’m catching up on online school. Going for two associates which yeah I know isn’t that impressive because I’m sure most of you are going to be doctors or whatever you say but it’s something considering I never wanted to go to college. I’m not trying to shame people away from this rough lifestyle because I’ve gotten through college debt free live in my own place and I’ve exceeded everyone’s including my own expectations. ALSO THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH COMMUNITY COLLEGE!!!!

As a athlete myself I can say that the grind is 100% worth it, you live very stress free despite the work load and you feel accomplished at the end of every day

Montysa24 cause not everyone wants to be a 5 star d1 athlete who makes the nfl and becomes a hall of gamer. Besides you don’t know exactly what she does on a daily basis. This could be a Friday night thing.

@@kingpaid995 no shit not everyone wants to be a d1 athlete. doesn't mean you can just NOT focus/worry about your future. the desc says "typical day" so you can imagine she spends a lot of time on "self care" and going out almost everyday just from this. athletes are constantly hustling and take breaks when they should (from what i heard) but that should apply to everyone who wants a good future right?
