Hey Brody, I'm loving the play and the grit from you and your team, but I'm noticing a lot of things your team could work on. Obviously, I don't claim to be a hockey expert, but these are just a few things I've noticed within the past few videos. 1. The defence needs work This doesn't necessarily apply to only the defensemen. Overall, your team lacks defensive zone coverage and gives away easy looks in dangerous areas within your zone. For example, at 20:40, there should be no way that guy gets a look as good as that, and if he doesn't fan on that shot it's another goal for the gens. More so for the defensemen now, there were multiple times when the wingers would drive down the lane and either get the opportunity to swing a pass through the crease (potentially leading to a goal), or cut into the middle and got a better look and shot. I would definitely voice the suggestion to work on defensive timings off the rush to prevent either of those situations from happening. 2. The one touch hockey would be advantageous to you guys Your team to me has strong suits when you guys get a rhythm in the zone. However, getting set up into the zone seems to be a struggle in my eyes. Your team seems to rely on creating space before making a pass, but what about relying on a pass to create space? I'd suggest quick passes to get through the neutral zone and past the blue line if you guys want to set up faster and better. Especially in transition, the puck shouldn't be on one persons stick in the defensive zone for more than 2 seconds. Once you or one of your guys gets control of the puck in the neutral zone or the offensive zone, that's an appropriate time for holding onto the puck. Overall, I'd suggest working on moving the puck faster to the rest of your guys. 3. The grit is there, but the mental isn't This could be totally on my end, but to me, your team lacks to mental strength to put up a similar fight against teams like these fucks. I won't deny that these guys played a questionable type of hockey and some calls were certainly not in your favour, but there needs to be some sort of push back from you and your guys. I cannot deny that your team has the spirit, grit, and energy to get past teams, however, I think the mental game could use some improvement. I could be chatting out of my ass about this to be honest, because to me this game provided a clear example of the lack of mental strength. Remember to do your best to not let these dirty players get under your teams skin, and of course push back. Hopefully I didn't say a load of bs, since this comment came from an ex-mediocre hockey players mouth. Yet, I hope this comment provides some sort of gain rather than just a bunch of random words that didn't make since and don't align with your play. Keep up the good work bud!
