Hey their my bro!! So I have talked about you to my bus drivers here in Tacoma. I told them that i had subscribed to your channel and love every moment of it. I told them that I had given comments about how i love riding the bus and showing the drivers how much I appriciate riding the bus. I have always talked to my bus drivers and told them how much I appriciate them but you really inspired me to keep on. Every time I get on the bus to go to work i think of you man!! I brag to my bus drivers about you. They all think that that is cool. They were told about your channel and they wanted to know what your KZbin channel is and I told them bus driver life. They think that is awesome and they even said they would have to check it out. You have really inspired me to keep letting my bus drivers know how much I appriciate them. I even have gone further in calling pierce tranzit to let them know how awesome our bus drivers are. Even calling up the company and telling them that as well as telling the bus drivers this is so important and cruised. Thanks man for the inspiration. The things that I have heard you talk about I have talked about with the bus drivers and it is so funny how it is so on the same page. Even I had conversations about the dead head with the bus drivers and they say yep!! That is right. Oh and by the way I am a bus nut you probably knew that by now. ❤

Bro a restroom for drivers is golden. We gotta rely on 7-11 or random establishment that will allow us to use their facilities. When I pick a run restroom plays a big part.

It's hard for bus drivers to get heathy food. We have to eat wherever we are and usually don't stop elsewhere on the line because it's an inconvenience for the passengers. Fast food makes me sick even when I was younger. Of course the bus company never considers this when designing layover loops. The drivers are the always the last concern. I started packing my lunch decades ago but I was in the minority at my station. Most drivers end up either not eating or buying unhealthy food in the field.

Kewan, it was nice riding along with you tonight ... actually, couple of nights ago, I guess. Weather looked nice. I suspect since it was 82 degrees east of San Diego, you were probably pushing 90 already. May the A/C be working for you this summer. All the best.

What would you call those Nachos? Bus Driver Nachos? I work at a baseball stadium (up in the press box), only staff & press can get access to the press box, our PA announcer created something called Press Box Nachos… I still have yet to try those, I’ll make sure to give a full review on the Press Box Nachos

0:17 If you're working your day off, does that mean you volunteered to do overtime or did you get drafted. In Septa, we get drafted or we can volunteer for overtime. I come to work everyday and my bosses love me because of it. 4:12 "This what bus driver break time looks like." Relatable.

I don't like the food at 7-11 anymore in Downtown Chicago because one of the store on Jackson and State, it be a homeless guy being around the coffee stuffs playing around it and too much activity on that block. After night time they close most of the 7-11s in the Downtown Chicago areas. Only places are open is Dunkin Donuts on Jackson and Dearborn and on Washington and Wabash. Most of the night time bus operators would stop there if my friend is in there because they like his fresh iced coffees.
@BusDriverLife Жыл бұрын
Wow!! 7-11 is never supposed to close! We have issues at the 7-11’s as well In Sacramento but they still manage to stay open. Shoutout to you In Chicago though! Great city..you just gotta be careful there! Lol

Heard through the grapevine starting today the 87 will end it's southern most terminal at the Power Inn LRT. I need to confirm this because my next bid starting on 1-7-24 I bidded on block 2501 which is 7 runs of the 87 and finished off with a single outbound run of the 26 then pull in.I'm. If I didn't know any better, looks like you're pulling that block in this video.

How does the bus works? Do you guys get on the same bus everyday? Or does it change?
@RenoBusdriver Жыл бұрын
Drivers high in seniority get to choose what we call a bid. We get to choose what route or what block of time to work which varies from city to city. Everyone else goes on to extra board. Where I live those greater than the 70% have to block bid then the rest go on extra board. Extra board is where you get paid to sit around and wait for a paddle aka route to drive if needed. Otherwise you get paid to do nothing but is actually doing something meaning your waiting for something that may or may not happen. My first year I signed up for overtime on Super Bowl Sunday. A senior driver who requested the day off showed up for work. In which case threw me back on extra board, so I got paid time and half to watch the game. No complaints from me but it took me 6 months to get used to sitting around when every other job I had they found you work. The beauty of a union job.

Hey Keywan. I went and got a CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement and Air brakes. It has a manual transmission restriction. Im a 57 year old AA male. Do you think im too old to operate a city bus? I would really like your honest opinion. I only need to do it for 3 years. Im with a major transit company in a major city. I want to do it because i am tired of being stuck in an office all day. My family is like Boy you're crazy. I think its a great idea.

Just wondering but why aren't u a light rail operator rather than a bus operator? Is it cuz light rail positions are bidded on by high seniority operators? I only ask cuz it would seem better to do light rail cuz you don't deal with making turns while driving, other cars and most importantly, interacting with customers cuz ur enclosed in cabin on a light trail train. Just curious. Thanks.
