First, congratulations! But always remember you're not there to "save" people, you are there to do your job, if something doesn't get done, do it the next day. Give yourself GRACE. You will make mistakes, but use them as a learning experience. Be the best you can be, take breaks when needed and the rest will fall into place.

hi! i see an open position as a Case Manager near me working with the homeless population. i initially graduated in Recreational Therapy, but I do remember my old internship supervisor mentioning that Rec Therapist can also be Case Managers, so i’m trying to find out as much info. as i can! how are you liking it? how easy was it to learn about everything in order to help/refer your clients? i’m always nervous that i won’t be competent or won’t be able to catch on. it seems like a lot! no offense at all bc it does seem rewarding.

Hi I saw your latest video and you're in Baltimore like me! I just applied for a case manager position in Baltimore city at a youth facility I won't name. I work there already as YCP but I got my BA in psyc degree so I can finally do this job. Do you have any advice for Baltimore related cases? I know Baltimore city is a special case in itself.
@AniyaDanyea3 жыл бұрын
Omg congratulations!!! Many of the youth facilities collaborate so hopefully we’ll run into each other. But my best advice is to make sure you’re trauma informed and know how to handle situations with individuals that have experienced some form of trauma. Also, allow the youth to have a voice. We believe in equal partnership and motivational interviewing to give youth an opportunity to be independent. I hope you get the job 🤞🏾
@meggiemills36023 жыл бұрын
@@AniyaDanyea Thankkk you! That means alot to me. Yeah I'm very trauma informed and I treat them as independently as possible in these facilities while holding them accountable for things like chores and schooling and their "jobs". We make sure they speak up for themselves too.
@meggiemills36023 жыл бұрын
@@AniyaDanyea I'm also sure we may stumble upon eachother too. Baltimore city facilities are all kinda connected. One doesn't work out in one RTC, they go to another and so forth.
