I have just begun my programming journey, 2 months in! After I’m done with programming school, I’m going to try getting into this. One school here in Sweden teaches Devops for 2 years so I’m extremely nervous that I won’t get in. But it seems so god damn interesting, I have autism and IT is the only career I can see myself happy and fulfilled in. Do you have any tips for what I should practice learning already on my own?

At the minute I'm teaching DevOps and I'd suggest try getting into software as a developer or tester, because DevOps engineers are required to be comfortable with a set of tools and technologies.

1. Learn all you can about one operating system and base scripting language (linux with bash please haha) 2. Learn all you can about one cloud provider (Major one line AWS, GCP, Azure) 3. Learn all you can about a CI/CD like: Azure devops, Gitlab CI/CD, Github Actions 4. Learn all you can about a programming language (focus on the build system like nuget in .net or maven in java) 5. The previous are the bases, some extra tools, like Infrastructure as code, agile, docker, kubernetes. 6. Keep updating your bases because technology and stacks changes alot and we need to keep on track : p

That's great bro and I am taking online coaching for DevOps. I graduated in 2016 and I had no experience in IT field. Now learning Git, Jenkins, Dockers Kubernates AWS Terraform Ansible and bash scripting as well. Do I need to learn anything new ?

Hello, I am a cis man as DevOps Engineer in Germany. When I go to my department in the morning, I see willies on the left, willies on the right, willies behind me, willies in front of me. It's really great that you have diversity. I admire that. Unfortunately that's not the case in Germany. Is that only explicit in your company or in general? Best wishes!

We make diversity a priority at Fearless. We are working towards our 50/50 goal, which is 50% women and 50% people of color in the next few years.

Seems she talks a lot about other minor topics away from devops, she never show the monitoring, or deployments , the check of infra or issues regarding architecture o nagging developers.
