I'm an OT student graduating this year and seeing this video makes me so happy because not a lot of people know about our profession and thus, don't see the value in OT!! Thanks for making this video and spreading some awareness Madalyn! :)

Thank you for giving us a glimpse of this specialty! It’s so awesome to be able to see other areas of the medical field. This one put me into tears. Children are precious, and they deserve all the love and optimal care that the world has to offer. Have a great week ahead, Madalyn!

Hi! I'm undergraduate OT student from Indonesia. I would to know in which country do you work? Also is OT's in school is same as shadow teacher in your country? I hope you mind to answer my question because I really need that for my research, thank you!

Well, so did I!! Soo thankful I chose OT! And incidentally, I truly admire SLPs as well and certainly considered that field. I chose OT because it was more active and I was that way myself plus it always seemed to me that for working in speech, that would be a more suitable profession for someone who enjoys a more quiet and perhaps serious environment, it seems they spend more time in a quiet office and quite frankly, I'm just not all that quiet! 😂

This vlog is interesting! I've learned a lot of information about pediatric therapy. This is very helpful, especially since I have a nephew with GDD who is currently undergoing physical therapy and will soon begin speech and occupational therapy. ❤

Found this video a couple months back and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I was a nursing major and ultimately decided I wanted to pursue occupational therapy and become an assistant and maybe eventually a Occupational therapist. Only thing is there are no schools near me in Cali so I’ll be taking a bit off from school to save money and figure out how I’m going to do it

Thank you for this video!!! A lot of people don’t know what an occupational therapist is so this is so helpful!! There are other medical jobs out there!

And there are so very many sub-specialties in OT! When I was working up till 2004, OT was known as the most wide-ranging of therapy specialties since we really did work with the widest range of skillsets within all the aspects of development in peds including of course fine and gross motor, social, emotional, all kinds of ADLs, iADLs, as this therapist here was saying of course praxis which is otherwise known as motor planning and then that can be broken down into both ideomotor and ideational praxis problems, plus lots of work on sensory defensiveness issues, plus sensory integration as well which can incorporate difficulties with gravitational insecurity and obviously other vestibular-related difficulties, and I could go on and on. One problem here! Could you have made it longer?? 😂

:) I have a medical question! Since September last year, I've been having episodes where I get lots of chest pain,I struggle to breathe, I have pins and needles and then I faint. I've been in and out of hospital for weeks, but no one can figure out what's wrong with me. I now have a blood pressure of usually 140 - 169/ 90 -106 What do you think that it may be???? Edit: I am only 14 and it's making quite a big impact on my learning as I have one nearly every day
