5 guys for the greens, that's our entire staff for the course haha...gotta love working for a city owned course. Quite the operation you guys have, wish we'd switch to the Toro's instead of the Jacobsens.

Jacobsen is just complete rubbish equipment. Never once have I heard a good thing said about them.
@bencunningham62983 жыл бұрын
@@ryanmarshall3487 that's what we're finding out too. Our old superintendent could work on them but since he left looks like we're going to contract out with toro as the Jacobsen's break down

@@bencunningham6298 And when they breakdown, its good luck in trying to get any parts or customer service. So, congrats on the upcoming new equipment.

I worked construction 33 years. Once retired I landed a job at a very nice golf course. It's a lot of work but fun. Sometimes even the Caddy Shack vibe...lol!

4:19 Toro sidewinder. That was always my favorite mower to use. No emptying buckets with the rotary mower and striped awesome. Plus the joystick to slide the decks left or right was great. Bunker machine on the other hand… worst.

Gets monotonous and the members like to complain all the time. It's not bad when you get to bounce around from task to task but if you're stuck on one task it gets boring quick.

@@turftipswithbrianyouell or compacting the top layer of soil to compensate for a more even roll of a golf ball...it has a double sided effect...& therefore should only be used in competition related situations ...it compresses the soil, if watered prior to rollin...minialising air & water to the root net,thru compaction ...therefore aeration with a spike based machine has to happen to allow the build up of toxic gas within the root net to escape ...& also allow water to penetrate down to where the grass leaf blade will gain it's moisture from ..simple stuff eh ?.
