Hi guys! Good to see you again.
I created this video to make people aware of the roles, challenges and work involved as a Healthcare assistant within these pressing times (Coronavirus pandemic. Easter 2020)
I might put together a video addressing the positives and negatives about working as a HCA while being a medical student so if that appeals to you, comment below. Also, if you have any other video ideas you'd like to see, comment as well.

I have applied for a Healthcare Support Worker position at Addenbrookes. Done the interview and got the conditional offer letter now just waiting for the pre-employment ID check. Hopefully, all goes well and I get to start work soon. Very excited.

I'm Hca in nursing home i try to apply in hospital but as lack of confidence and English not my first language but i try my best to apply again and but bit scared when we have to explain and give examples but will try best love to join nhs🙏

Not sure if you’ll see this as you posted this a while ago but I was wondering if you’re have any tips - I’m starting as a bank HCA this week and have never done it before (I’m a 4th year medical student), thank you!

Hi! Try and get to the ward early and make sure you get told where everything is. Make a to do list of things to get done in the morning such as the Obs timings and washes etc for completion throughout the day. When booking bank shifts, try and find ward with pathologies you find interesting. If you don’t like the washing side of things, there may be some roles in clinics or I even worked in vascular assess putting PICC lines in etc. So move around a fair bit to find out something you’ll like
