I've gotten through grad school with a laptop, a collapsible food tray and single subject notebooks. :) It's very doable.

Could you make a video going into more depth about the client notes/documentation process? Obviously you cannot share actual info, haha, but you you go over the process as a whole (what to include, what's easy/hard to document) for those of use applying to counseling programs? Also do you work under someone or own your own practice? Thanks and I loved this video!

Thanks for the question Bailey! Saving this for a future video. And right now I currently work for someone else’s private practice because the new rule just came into effect on February 27th that Texas LPC-associates can own and operate their on private practice while still remaining under supervision. So very exciting news for current and future LPC-Associates for sure!

I love your videos and found your book collection to be insightful! My Grandmother’s Hands is definitely a book I would recommend for a more culturally relevant take on trauma amongst Black, White, and Law Enforcement communities.

Love your videos! I currently just started my masters in counseling and still undecided if that’s the route to go. I mean what is the difference between counseling and social work? I know I want to counsel people. I’m in Texas as well and just don’t know what the difference is.

So glad it was helpful! Definitely check out therapistaid.com first if you haven’t already because they have free worksheets dedicated to different approaches and techniques. I love it because you get to explore what you like for free so you don’t have to spend on cbt or dbt books for example if you don’t like it.😊

I’ve been thinking about changing my major from communications to Psychology. Im a junior in college. Im trying to do research and it’s so overwhelming. What steps From beginning to end do you have to take to become a licensed therapist in Texas? Also, thank you for posting about your work Bc it’s been very helpful 😭

Hi Arianna! I feel you on how overwhelming it can be. There are different routes you can take to be a therapist wether it be through a psychology, counseling, or social work programs. You have to go through a Masters program so if this is something you’re considering definitely make an appointment with your adviser so they can walk you through the pre-requisites. After you complete your masters you test to become licensed. If you go to the Texas state board website bhec you can see the licensure requirements too.😊 If you’re thinking of going the psychology route definitely check out the KZbin channel Oh So Limitless if you haven’t already. ❤️
