Hey boss , i just applied ! I’ve had my cdl 3 months and been doing OTR(not for me lol) but i was curious of what the hiring process is and do misdemeanor charges automatically disqualify you from the position? I have no felonies but my understanding is that you can’t have certain misdemeanor charges to deliver at certain places like schools, hospitals, etc.

Wassup brother, I believe we don’t hire felons but we can take some misdemeanor charges on case by case bases. And you’re correct you just won’t be able to make certain deliveries because we deliver to anyone who’s able to pay. So yeah I hope that helps. How do you know if you’re putting items under the correct price? Just applied actually but I didn’t know you had to stock it, just assumed you dropped it off, seems like a lot of extra work that would be time consuming. Wouldn’t that be the stores job?

Sometimes you can check the serial numbers under the barcode of the product, if it matches with the ticket on the shelf, thats where it goes. Also stores dont merch because usually they are understaffed & wont be able to attend other duties or they will just half ass it which pepsi dont like (or any company). So Its up to you to make the product look good & sell.

Ive been working in grocery stores for around 8 years and while it seems like it would be the stores job only in rare cases is it left to the store. The way i understand it is the company (pepsi, coke, 7up, beer/wine vendors) manage their own inventory counts and the merchandisers/sales reps make their own orders. The companies also essentially "rent" shelf space in high traffic areas to ensure their products are visible and more easily sold or readily available. Rarely, usually around holidays or events locally, we would talk with our sales rep about bringing in more product than is usual. Also what the other commentor mentioned is entirely true i have only ever worked in one store with enough people staffed to properly function.

I really don’t know. But at least try. My best advice is just be you and be honest…. If if you don’t get the job don’t beat yourself up… just keep on looking someone is going to give you a shot!! None of us perfect.

You’re right that salesman did do everything right. In a perfect world us as drivers are supposed to rotate. But when I say, we Don’t have anytime for that. I mean that. We average 10-12 stops a day. (But I do try to rotate low shelf life items like our Chilled Products) I try man but we aren’t expected to rotate on our stops. We have limited time at each store. I hope you understand. 😅

Pretty sure they’re supposed to have another worker come in that does the rotation. At least that’s the way it works at my store. One or two days Pepsi vendors come in to deliver product and then a separate day another Pepsi vendor comes in but that one comes to do orders and rotation.

For me I have a different route everyday. But normally drivers who’s been here for a while have a set route/ location. Yes we deliver in all types of weather as longs as it’s not to hazardous. I just dress up if it’s cold and dress under if it’s hotter. And drive according to the weather conditions.
