First video of "A day in a life of a Senior Software Engineer being a DAD" that's harder than teaching someone how to program or being productive, if you have only 6 hours for productivity make them count. Respect for you Phillip

Just curious, what is the black bar at the top of your monitor? Mic?
@victoriousinsight3 күн бұрын
It's called a monitor light bar. It's for lighting your desktop area. It comes in handy if the room is dark.
@letphil3 күн бұрын
It’s a monitor light bar yes!

why do ppl put a lightbar on their monitor?

Hey Phil, I love your videos! I'm building an app with React, Node.js, and a self-hosted MongoDB. I have zero knowledge about deployment and am still new to React and all these technologies. Could you give me a quick overview of how to go about deployment? That would be a huge help. Thanks! ❤
@letphil3 күн бұрын
hey. thank you for your comment. there is a video about deployment in one of my earlier videos. how did you create your react app? if wanting to use mongo. u will need to open your public IP to use your self hosted mongo. or you can run mongo in docker or use atlas then get the mongo uri and connect. i suggest AWS for deploying on ec2 and u can do all in there. or u may use lightsail. or host the generated build files in s3 bucket and hook up your node.js that can run in ec2. then hook up the mongo from atlas. for staging purposes i suggest using docker and just running everything in a containers while your app is small. message me in discord and ill send you some stuff if you want
