Oh wow! Crazy how different it is in each state/district.

Yes it is crazy. In my district we are on duty the whole school day other than specials. We even are responsible to rotate car and bus duty. They keep ours plate very full .

Please don't be so hard on yourself when you are not able to make videos very often. You have had many wonderful things happen in a short span of time, and I understand your need to find balance and establish boundaries. It has been a challenging academic year for many teachers and all we can do is give ourselves grace and find ways to make sure that the teaching profession does not consume us to the point of losing our identities. Can you believe that you are now in your third year of teaching? Although this is my 29th year in the profession, I do feel like a first year teacher at times with all of the changes , limitations, and expectations placed upon me. I am still proud of you for how you have come. Take care.

I have duty free recess, lunch, and a prep time. I have morning and afternoon duty once a week which I’ve been complaining about. I guess I need to stop that and appreciate my duty free times. 😬 What are your plans for next year? Are you teaching? Who will watch your little one?

Love this video! 💛 It’s so crazy how different standards can be from state to state. I teach Kindergarten as well and thinking back to your Washington teaching videos, the standards where I am are so much different. Our standards are closer to yours in Florida, but still not the same.

I'm a high school teacher. I opt to have kids in my room for lunch and get paid for it. My planning is right away, so sometimes the days are long!

Love this so much 🙌 I can honestly relate to so much of your life and this video. I am a kindergarten teacher in my 4th year of teaching in Ontario and although i am not learning a new curriculum (I can’t even imagine how hard that must of been) I definitely have had my challenges with teaching especially this year. For us we have an early childhood educator partner who teaches with us and I love it if it’s the right partner but unfortunately in my years so far I have had very mixed experiences and because I just got permanent I have moved schools every year till now so I have never had the same person each year… thus it can be like a whole new experience with every new partner and their ideas as out curriculum is very open play based and inquiry learning. This year has been extremely harder too because like you said kids are socially struggling and I have a very busy behavioural classroom that has fully burnt me out. Plus I am planning a wedding in the middle of it all and doing house projects in our new home 🙈 so strongly can relate! Though I could not imagine doing this all while being pregnant 💖💖👏 I would love to see more day in your life videos and I would love for some of your tips on getting things done at school and not home cause I am for sure struggling with that balance this year - we get planning time but most times the kids are in the room including lunch 🙏 sorry for the long post and thank you so much for sharing ❤️❤️❤️

Lunch with the kids daily (because of COVID) and recess duty twice a week. I also have morning yard duty once a week where I watch the kiddos before they're let into school. Also totally agree that mornings go way better than the afternoon haha

I love watching all of your videos! I love that you change it up and show a mix of everything going in in your life. That is real life and so relatable for all of us. I am also a teacher and love seeing how real you are. It makes me feel so much better to know that I am not alone . I also moved across state, new school, place, and also pregnant!! Also in a new home! So much in common. I can relate ssoooo much to a crazy few months with soo much new! Thanks for sharing. I look forward each week to your videos. ( I fold clothes each sunday and watch🤣)
