DAY IN THE LIFE..
Hi beauty’s! I wasn’t going to title this vlog 'WHAT MY KIDS EAT IN A DAY' until I noticed we’d captured every meal! So here is a very real diary of what they ate!
Obviously days vary but breakfast is pretty much the same each day.. fruit & carbs!
I don’t restrict anything.. everything in moderation!
They usually have 'snack time’ after lunch or if they’ve been at school it will be after tea.
This is the time they’ll choose a couple of treats. On this particular day we baked so that was the main treat.
I find having a 'snack time' avoids them filling up on multiple treats throughout the day!

Aww so nice to see you back on Wednesday Fern. Both recipes looked delicious. You look like you've settled back in at home with your routine now. I am a Grammy and used to be a fabulous cook but enjoyed seeing you whip up that nutritious fried rice. Seth was cute in every thing he did for you. Sometimes he acts like being soft is not manly. Love him tho. Both kids are delightful. I hated the pressure Nancy put on her spine. It’s ridiculous when you become attached to children that are no relation. I love your kids. My grandchildren are 21 and 23 and I was not only their grandmother but I watched them from infancy. You have a wonderful family including husband. Love mj

BACON 🥓, EGG 🥚 & CHEESE 🧀 CASSEROLE ******************************-slice croissant in half & lay down the bottoms of the croissant in casserole dish. -saute 2 baking onions to caramelization and stuff around the croissant to fill the spaces. -sprinkle cooked bacon bits (I'm guessing it might be a pound of well cooked bacon to crispy) and shredded cheddar cheese ( 1/2 #) generously over this first layer. -whisk 8 eggs together with milk to make a custard mixture and pour it over this first layer. -now cut the remaining 🥐 tops and press down into the mixture. Cover with additional shredded cheese. -Sprinkle top with a seasoning called "everything bagel seasoning". Every pantry should house it they say! -bake at 350° f for 55 minutes covered. Then bake for 20 minutes uncovered & serve! Bon appetit!

Good afternoon! It's ☁️☁️☁️. Such beautiful intro music! You just look smashing this Morning 🌞. !You are such a pretty person! I have noticed how much Nancy has grown in the last 2 months! Interesting you had croissant 🥐🥐 for breakfast. I was thinking of Nancy and her comment in that intro you used to use about croissant.I just finished watching Drew Barrymore who has a talk show . She had on the Stars of a new cooking show. Dr Oz's daughter, Daphne Oz, is the primary star of this new cooking show called"The Good Dish". Anyway, they were going on about how wonderful it was and then they all made a casserole using day old or dry croissant. I now associate Nancy with croissant. That was before I watched your new vlog today. I will include it in a separate entry and I think it might be something you could use at times since croissant are in your house often. I think it's an excellent looking idea. I haven't tried it yet but I will. Daphne Oz said you could inject it with vegetables as well it'd be a good clean up the fridge kind of casserole and it looks yummy! When you were doing the Rice Krispie square I noticed Sylvia down on the floor checking things out. I love you dogs! They're so funny. That really was a different twist on Rice Krispie square, infusing Raw so to speak marshmallows into the mix is pretty clever! I haven't noticed colored mini marshmallows but that would be a doable thing, as well. Oh there's just no end to the spin. I do enjoy Rice Krispie square, on occasion. Yesterday I made some more shortbread . Next time I'm going to cut up some cherries and add them. My son loves it so this is what I make it. I used to make a version of whipped shortbread with maraschino cherries on every little cookie. Cherries go so well with shortbread. It's snowing. The snowflakes are flying East ❄️❄️❄️❄️ right now and because the sun is gone down , it's starting to build up. We were down to pavement and no snow. It seems this process is constant. After all it is January and after all it is Canada! It's not very cold - it's 0. It's only supposed to go down to -3 . It's not brutal like it was. But we're not through February yet! I really don't mind it , if I don't have to travel far. The ice and snow is a drag to drive through. Looking out on it is pretty and it makes you feel cozy inside your warm house. Two nights ago I made egg fried rice. I added some sauteed chicken breast. I had lots of mushrooms and use them up. No carrots. They was yellow pepper 🌶️🌶️ & onion. There was so much mushroom juice I didn't bother with anything else. It was yummy! Today I'm still finishing boxing up Christmas.FINALLY was permitted to end it! Funny I got a Christmas card from my next door neighbor 2 days ago! Maybe it was a message - not sure . I'll have to ask!It's really nice to have a clean space clutter free of Christmas. We really did have a nice time at Christmas this year, the decorations were so extra nice as well. I haven't got time right now . Tomorrow and it should be there. I'm happy you're keeping motivated and happy. Later on... Well I just did something on my phone that I've never done before. It was a little discouraging to begin with. That being because I was rolling along going to repeat what I'd already written down in a notebook on to this and my phone dropped so I plugged into the power right now and I tried something different which I had never done technically before and no one had ever told me how to do it but I figured out how to copy it without crunching so to speak and redoing it and it worked yay yay yay. I sure hope that somebody tries that recipe I haven't and I will but I've not all the time buy them like you people do in France.. I think it will be splendid! I hope you enjoy it Fern. I'm pretty good at guilt tripping!!! But I don't mean to be too presumptuous! And really there's no need for you to feel THAT guilty at all because it didn't take hardly any time cuz I learned how to ' copy'. I saw aging Nancy zipping away on her new iPad. I used to have apple stuff. I actually bought an Apple laptop because of the way it looked on Sex & The City, seriously! Unfortunately, that particular unit was more of a lemon than an apple. Really annoying!! Have you tuned in to "And Just Like That " the 20 years later version of " Sex & The City"? There's only 10 episodes. Today is Thursday, I'll watch the 9th episode. It is classic NYC. Anyway this completes my little rant for today. Hope your day goes well 💝😚💝😚💝😚💝😚.

Great video Fern. Thanks for sharing. Loved the Yorkshire touch at the beginning. My husband is from Hull in East Yorkshire and is always coming out with funny sayings. Having crisps with the sandwich is very British too. My Mother-in-Law would always offer them at lunch time whenever we would go for a holiday to visit family in England.

Very nice vlog Fern. I loved the music. You and Nancy are so cute "baking" together. My 4-year-old granddaughter, Violet likes to bake some with me. Loved the vlog, dear Fern! Guess what we're having tomorrow: fried rice! Someone saw your vlog and now he wants fried rice! And, just like Seth he is doing the same thing and he is driving me crazy all the time! He says he did something and then, after he worries me, he says, "just joking!!!" The kids may also like a variation on the rice crispies treat; peanut butter Cheerios marshmallow treat. It's a favourite in our house and you can sub any nut butter and cereal you prefer.
