Everyone saying Walling would beat AJ, then when AJ wins its 'oh thats because he sparred loads with AJ, he wasn't on AJ's level' etc... Even if that was the case, you think Wallin learned nothing from all those spars? Joshua pieced him up good and propper 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 I'd rather hear from coaches, s&c coaches, etc than bullsh*t pundits who seemingly haven't got a clue... Match made in heaven is this, well done Ben, wiley and AJ! Hope it continues for the rest of AJ's career 🙏🏻👌🏻👍🏻
@officielEP9 ай бұрын
They just want to hate on AJ, the guy can't do anything right if you ask some people online.
@kabl00muk949 ай бұрын
@officielEP this is why i never got people saying he was mentally weak, etc... I mean... if you've got millions in the bank, your family is sorted and you never need to work a day in your life again, you've taken endless, completely unwarranted criticism from everyone, even legend's in the sport... And you STILL want to get in the ring and risk getting clattered by blokes that are 20+ stone purely for Legacy... The LAST thing you are is mentally weak 😂
@simonbrandy96628 ай бұрын
@officielEP yep, it's just jealousy. Let's be real, he's rich, famous, good looking & a decent fella. He's all the things losers love to hate on. There's a reason a fat, bald, no manners loud mouth resonates with some people. I actually like Fury as a character (at times) but the disparity in treatment towards each fighter is obvious. And as a white man, I can say there's another reason for the obvious bias. Froch in particular needs to watch his mouth. AJ could take his missus from him, if he really wanted to 😂.

I’ve been saying since the first Usyk loss that Bens team was the team to put that right. I’ve honestly always thought that could’ve been an easy win - AJ did nearly everything wrong in the rematch, guided by his coaches. That fight could’ve been as easy he wanted to make it. Top flaw, for those that are interested, was that he spent 24 rounds GIVING a small guy the exact range he needed to be effective. Couldn’t have been worse in some ways. This team would’ve spotted that.
@niffrig8 ай бұрын
I think he did much better in the second fight. You have to recognise that Usyk is just very good at working himself into positions and distance that work for him
@matthewstephens68488 ай бұрын
I really don't. Check Usyk's face after the first fight - he was bashed up and needed stitches. And Usyk was hurt multiple times to the body in the first fight. He had light bruising after the second. And obviously he's good with distance and positioning. The point is, he didn't have to work for range - it was given to him. The thing that should've been the most work to achieve was handed to him on a plate for 24 rounds.@@niffrig

Joshua fighting usyk regardless of the result was the best thing he ever did trust me.wallin fight proved that.ANY opponent after 24 rnds with usyk is nowhere near as difficult.

I’m just happy for AJ; glad he didn’t let Wallin, Wilder and Miller get into his head during the whole thing. He’ll never get the credit he deserves, but we who truly support him right from when he began will always be there to support him. He should stay with Ben Davinson for clarity; I believe AJ is an overthinker, and Ben is a scholar who knows how to break complex components into simpler forms; hopefully, he will work more on AJ's defence, get him on dance classes to help him move more in the ring and get some head movement and angle punches. Most importantly, prepare him for someone with a peekaboo style like Ruiz. Add that, and AJ will dominate for a long time again...

@erelpc9 ай бұрын
Yeah I think the analytical approach to boxing of Davison and Joshua's analytical mind seem to gel well.
@matthewstephens68489 ай бұрын
EXACTLY. They simplified what you need to do to beat Wallin. Create dead space and punish him by going 1st and 3rd - and work that back hand to the body. That was basically the crux of everything they did.
@joelwilson41979 ай бұрын
@@matthewstephens6848 exactly and he forced walling to punch on his timing, controlled with the lead hand then took it away when he wanted wallin to punch and countered him
@matthewstephens68488 ай бұрын
@@joelwilson4197 that’s what ‘first and third’ is mate. Go first to draw them going second and then time em with the third. It’s an old concept. Countered by second and fourth, but Wallin doesn’t have that in his repertoire - it takes a lot of skill, speed, timing and balls to execute second and fourth. Not to mention fitness. You need the old roided up heavyweights of the 90s to play that game. 🙂

@upsidedown84159 ай бұрын
Brilliant this is, Ben and AJ are a great match due to their styles, AJ sort of wants a game plan, and Ben is the man that can deliver it. Me personally I think Ben gets everything right, and AJ will keep winning whilst working with Ben so in a way Ben Davison is guaranteeing the AJ v Fury fight, and I can't see Ben in AJs corner for that fight, although I do believe Ben will be loyal to both guys and not get involved in giving information on the other when it comes down to it
@mrpk6469 ай бұрын
Good stuff. Idk if AJ is neurodivergent, but like me he clearly needs to know the why's and how's to get the full picture, and when he gets that full understanding of what, how and why it positively effects his confidence, and you get a sharp AJ with clear intentions. Which is why Ben is a great fit.

Big fan of both so I was hyped to see the link up The constant conversation around AJ has been ridiculous...fighters(current and former!)and the boxing media cant stop bringing his name up Discussing his state of mind as if they know for a fact how hes feeling based off a few minutes of media and his posts on twitter 😂 Its inspiring to see someone come through so much adversity, disrespect, envy etc with nothing but professionalism alongside a trainer and team who carry themselves the same way I cant wait to see whats next Thank you both for the inspiration!

Ben did a fantastic job. Perfect partnership. AJ has been searching for the right trainer for a while. I can see 2024 being a big year for AJ. I've always rated Ben as a trainer. He breaks down fights like Chris Andre Boxing. These younger dudes are showing the old guard how it's done.

Great performance. Interesting combination of trainer and fighter. I was a (harsh?) critic of Davison in the past, for me... Davison is no longer "Boxercise Ben" .. his impact this year has been significant, Davison is a credible World Class trainer. Looking forward to 2024.

AJ has always been a far better boxer than he has ever been given credit for and showed that against Parker, Ruiz II and Usyk II before even linking up with Ben. I personally do not think Ben has improved him to any significant level and instead just had a continuation of things considering Wallin is not Usyk, but one area that might be an improvement that is non-boxing related is that they are of similar age and backgrounds and it probably made for a happier and more relaxed working relationship.
