I had a VA shunt 11/2022 after having a VP shunt(2of them both had broke open and the last also tore a hole in one part of my intestines)for almost 40 years. I am 6q now. Spine had osteoporosis, so no more in that area. I hope you are doing better. Me, I am but did loose about two years though. Mine is programmable with 5 levels of drainage. I am at a 3. Dr did an external drainage to see how much extra fluid I produce. In a 50 hours of monitoring and draining, I produce a little over 2 liters of fluid. I still have good days a foamed rough days. Especially if it’s going to rain within the next 12 hours. Also about 4 pm, pressure builds up just before draining, I will feel my pressure building. When it does drain, I will have a small cramp in my heart. When I had my last VP shunt, too much fluid was drained off, my brain tried to herniated down my spine. I had a donor’s heart sack placed like a hammock to hold up the brain. I’m doing pretty good. I have to use a wheelchair because of my imbalance due to two of my ventricles are collapsed, one fully open and one partial collapse. Shunt is in the partial one so it too wouldn’t fully collapse. I hope you are doing better. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you so much for sharing! I so understand needing to use a wheelchair for your imbalance. I need to use one on and off. The good days/bad days issue is the worse as you never know how you are going to be; difficult to plan, difficult to live. But I see that you are quite a fighter. Nice to hear from you!
