They fell off just as Lambie was ascending. Usually when you have a motor like that you can scrape a decent team together. But it takes work. Lack of emphasis by coaches and federation. See Germans. They decided to respond to Brits and are now doing great.

@@tommyrq180 Yeah, sadly, this country is just too road (and now gravel)-centric to concentrate on the wooden oval racing scene. ☹😡 It does not help one bit that we only have ONE single UCI regulation indoor board track in a nation of this size, whereas many other much smaller (but YES, many many times more cycling crazy ones) countries have countless world class, indoor board tracks at their riders' disposal. But even with Ashton as the 'locomotive', where are you going to find 3 others capable of riding that 55.5 kilo pace now necessary to win this event with him??

@@nofascistsonmywatch Hire Dan Bigham. We have the motors out there in both men’s and women’s cycling. Just, as you said, no concentration. Bigham did it at Team KGF with very little money. Lambie (who rode with KGF) is self-made, which is a testament to him but points an accusatory finger at USA Cycling. USA Cycling Track Coaches Henderson and Sharp are probably really good but likely get little support. Pursuit (like points) is a roadie event. We can do it, just takes focus.

Is the announcer allergic to names? I don't think I've heard any. But it would be nice to give the respect to these men and women and actually say their names.

Sounds like an announcer who isn't familiar with cycling at all. Where's Carlton kirby when you need him ;)
