A quick afternoon session in unsettled weather at Furnace Brook Fishery in Sussex. A true mixed Fishery that offered us the perfect opportunity to compare the merits of stalking versus building a swim.

Nice little video. I started annoying fish back in 1966 on a tiny river. Until 5 years ago I'd quit fishing but took it up when I retired. It took me over 50 years to catch my first Grass Carp...and I got 2 in a day. First was 7Lb and the second was 11Lb!...I caught the last one twice. While I left him (her?) resting in the big landing net, with the barbless still connected, the bugger jumped out and I had a second fight almost as good as the 20 minute first fight! I know many carpers hate Grassy's but I found them nice fish who fight well. This looks a nice pool.

That's a great story 👍 Furnace Brook is a fabulous place, a true mixed fishery where you can catch half a dozen different species in as many casts🎣🎣

thanks for posting this i to fish with cane and pin and am in search of the kind of waters where peace and quiet as well as not knowing what may come along next is far more important that catching Gerty the 30

I totally agree 👍 I do still occasionally target know fish but for me it's far more about the 'quiet enjoyment ' of angling and I rather fish a farm pond for singles than sit shoulder to shoulder on a lake for the aforementioned Gerty! But that's the beauty of fishing - there's something for everyone🎣🎣
