Devarayana durga is a temple town and hill station located in the district of Tumkuru in the state of Karnataka in India. The rocky hills are surrounded by forest and the hilltops are dotted with several temples including the Yoganarasimha and the Bhoganarasimha temples. This is one of the key places to visit from bangalore - perfect for a day trip from Bangalore!
Devarayanadurga or DD Hills which translates to “the fort of God” is a tranquil hill station located near Tumkur district in the state of Karnataka. Situated at an elevation of 4000 ft, Devarayanadurga is a perfect weekend getaway from Bangalore to live among the trees and visit the beautifully crafted temples. The total driving distance from Bengaluru to Devarayanadurga is around 70 km and would take you around an hour or so to reach the hill station from Bengaluru city. The route to Devarayanadurga goes via Nelamangala, Dabaspet, Maddenahalli, Devarayanadurga via NH 48. The roads leading to Devarayanadurga are well maintained as the highway connects you to various other major towns and cities across the state.
Devarayanadurga is well known for its marvelous views of the surroundings. Other than this, the hill is known for the historical temples dedicated to Lord Narasimha. The temples are constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture and are believed to have been constructed by Kanthirava Narasaraja I who happened to be the King of Mysore. There are two temples here, one dedicated to Bhoganarasimha at the base of the hill and the second dedicated to Yoganarasimha Swamy-a part-man, part-lion avatar of Lord Vishnu at the summit of the hill.

There was a fortress constructed by king Chikkadevaraya around this hillock. Hence the name 'Devaraya-NA Durg-A'. This temple is thought to have been constructed either by Ganga/Chola kings. To this day even many Tamilian people also come here to offer worship to Bhaoga and Yoga-Narasimha. TVS Motors owners, TV Sundaram family manages several aspects of temples apart from the State Majarayi Department.

It's not devrayadurg,it's called devarayanadurga,if you are residing in Karnataka, atleast pronounce the name of place in Kannada in correct way atleast,we say most spoken language in india as Hindi not hind,in same way pronounce fully and correctly as Kannada,or devarayanadurga.

You can carry but not upto to temple, one of your family members will with the dog in the car or keep it outside near the temple. Best you should park the car 300mts before the temple, so its easy to turn comfortably after dharshan.

Narrator please crosscheck once before narrating. It's not "Devaray durg" , it should be "Devarayana durga", also it was not named after God's fort, it was named after a ruler by this name Devaraya.
