@@ThePFRG - Hey now, George had his Tennessean that day too. Nobody was going around writing down what guitars they were playing. What's your research that definitively says it's a strat? There are respectable websites that say John, Paul or George played the solo, I don't think anyone actually knows and its deductive guess work. I'd love if you could cite some sources, it's always a great read. Thanks!

Day Tripper was actually the first song I learned on the guitar. I remember I spent a whole day practising it in my bedroom, at the end I was on par with the recording speed, my mom brutally opened the door and shouted "GOT A GOOD REASON !!!!!"

@@ThePFRG - I just listened to Mattiboos and the original to compare. The strat has too much of a twang sound, which I hear in his video but not the original. Session photos show George playing a Tennessean and strat. I've always thought it was the Tennessean, so I figured the Casino would have a closer tone. It could even be both with the overdubs. The quieter guitar in the left channel sounds like it has more twang than the louder one. I could try again with the strat, but not anytime soon since this one sounds pretty good to me. Thanks!

The actual guitar used in Day Tripper for that riff is a Fender Stratocaster, and also if you play it with a Fender Stratocaster you can definitely tell tbh but this is the closest I've ever heard it without that guitar so props to you 👍👏

I have another (natural) Rick bass without it on - he didn't remove it until sometime in 75' i think. I honestly like it better with the pickup cover on sometimes, gives me a place to rest my hand. People get real bothered by them, but I kind of like it!

Thank you. The technology today and then are different things, hard to compare. Also, we are comparing affordable home equipment to one of the most notorious studios and bands of all time. We've improved our quality a bunch in the 2 years this was recorded. We could get closer today, but still not compete with millions of dollars worth of gear EMI was using. The room itself a huge factor

The only thing I can spot wrong is "George's" guitar doesn't have a Bigsby tailpiece on it. Unless he's using Johns Epiphone here. They both got Epiphone Casinos but George's had a Bigsby tailpiece...
