Caught three felonies in July. Figured it was about time to throw the towel in besides i have my whole life still and i don't want to spend it in prison. I started off at 14 selling half ounces. By 19 i was selling a pound+ a week every week, every month, year round. I just turned 21 in June so i have/had been selling for 7 years. Good thing is i finally feel like ive grown up enough to leave it behind.
@DH-br9kq8 жыл бұрын
At the time i was paying $5k every week for one shipment of about 900 "units". I would charge a flat rate of $10 a unit and it would take me just about ten days to finish one shipment. So if you do the math it was very profitable and very fun. But you know, if you play with fire eventually you'll get burned.

Firstly I would like to thank munchies for uploading this video .I'm 19 and its always been my dream to start a food/beverage related business...this was so inspiring its truly amazing that this guy started this thing all by himself and made his own brand at such a young age. Its not easy think about all the sacrifices he must have made and the time and effort he must have put in his company is wow! this has really motivated me and I never really enjoy 'chilling','watching pointless movies and tv series',unnecessary texting,etc,Its about time that i make a conscious determined effort and I am going to self-educate myself and make my dream of owning a food/beverage business a REALITY! at the same time i also wont let formal education come in my way its 21st April 2016 today and exactly 1 year from today. I will have started my company no what matter its takes!!!!! it's decided. This is my commitment to myself and to all the people out there.

Mushroom foraging used to scare the shit out of me. We had a family near where I lived that died from eating the wrong mushrooms. But when I was in the girls scouts, they taught us about safe and edible mushrooms in Maryland. It’s actually very easy to tell even for mushrooms that look fairly identical to dangerous ones, if you know the warning signs. Also, they sell cheap mushroom growing kits on amazon which are ALWAYS super fun. We had these mushrooms growing in the lot next to my parents house and one night this man pulls up and sheepishly asks if they were cultivating them. When my dad said no, he asked if he could take them. My dad was a bit worried to agree as he wasn’t sure if they were poisonous. This guy leaves, comes back with two onions, and goes through all the mushrooms. Each one that was bad, he’d put a piece of onion on top of it and some onion around the base and said it’d take care of it. Sure enough the next day these mushrooms were black and rotting. They haven’t had any come back. Our neighborhood thinks bunnies are spreading the fungi somehow in their poop maybe because they always grow where the bunnies hang out. Overall mushrooms are pretty fascinating. And truffles are so pretty cool. I’d love to one day be able to forage for them. I have a friend who, I believe, uses basset hounds and trained pigs to find them in their country.

@TheJarjarblinky9 жыл бұрын
Shini What's wrong with having a parent help start off your business? Isn't that what parents are for, to help their children? Besides, his father only funded partially in the beginning, now this guy is hustling all by himself and he rightfully got himself to where he is. Look at his interview with Huffington Post. He was using his bike in the beginning, he has commitment.

ya.... like anyone who knows about mushrooms can just get into the ny truffle dealing business. What I really want to know is how much capital it took to start and how you make connections to truffle sources.
@popcorny116 жыл бұрын
+Antipater Precisely.. this just shows the day to day of a business that has extremely high barriers of entry, especially for his specific choice of market. The main point is the initial start up and its current balance sheets. He must have had very, very strong family related connections and super long term supply chain contacts prior to starting this niche service.
@paul15483 жыл бұрын
I respect the hustle honestly, but yeh I have a lot of questions. You don't go from foraging and growing to be able to sell to NY's best restaurants without some sort of backing + connections. Especially with the produce he has.

+HOLYPEPSI Starting a company isn't cheap or easy and it's rare to succeed. Most do not. Notice I said it's RARE to succeed, not difficult, because working hard as hell certainly doesn't ensure you'll succeed.
@HOLYPEPSI9 жыл бұрын
It's actually very easy to succeed as a company of your item isn't trash.
@GoodAtSpeling9 жыл бұрын
HOLYPEPSI No it's not. It can take anywhere from 6 months to 5 years for a company to really take off, and most people don't have the financial stability to survive that long off of the little money it can bring in. Some business owners even go a few years without a salary of any kind. Hell, I know business owners who have great products/services but they work 2 jobs on top of running their company to keep the thing afloat. It's not easy whatsoever unless you already have the money to keep it going or you get lucky. You have to make sacrifices, you have to work your ass off, and even then, you're not guaranteed to succeed. 8 out of 10 businesses flop. And then, even when you're successful, you'll have hundreds of thousands (maybe even more) of dollars in debt to pay off.
