Hi Olly, another great blog! Lovely seeing all the hayfield action. Three favourite smells: bit difficult that one I personally lost my sense of smell and taste around ten years ago and now have Parkinson’s!! So from memory :- fresh rain after a downpour, cut grass, grilled bacon in a toasted sandwich 🥪!

I know it as tedding or turning. Three favourite smells - chopping grass when making silage (that day-ish old smell), kerosene fumes sweeping across an Airfield from jets and fish and chips with plenty of salt and vinegar.

My favorite smell is of the combine when we where harvesting with old soviet combine (Ukraine). I used to be fathers computer. Standing on the top near the bunker and checking from the top if everything is working ok. That smell of exaust, straw, grain - it's the smell of my childhood and young years. Also that smell of the cab (meaning in a good way) in the cab of the tractor on the night shift when you doing field work. Coffe, diesel, dust. There is something special about that mix. I don't even know how to explain that properly.

Petrol. Was on holiday and lots of old vespas going down the street. Great smell and sound. Rain after a dry smell same as you. Cattle dung. A strange one I know but I love the smell of it when carting it out or ploughing it in. Probably because I know how much good it does the following crops its applied to. Sack the man on the rake!🤣

It’s turning hay over here in East Galway, Ireland. If they only had smell-o-vision for these videos.
Sunday roast, Coffee and good fermented haylage. Hate the smell of freshly cut grass as I'm allergic to plant fear the smell gives me an asthma attack if I hand around it. Not so bad in a cab though I do have to sometimes take my inhaler an extra couple of times but hay mower generally isn't as bad the worst is a lawn mower where it mulches it
