I don't think he sounded like Chris Martin at all and that's not a bad thing. The timbre of Young K's voice is just so different and that's what made me like this version. I have to say I am always impressed how Brian alter his timbre to fit the different sentiments of different songs. There’s something so magical about him singing in his lower register. It’s so warm and powerful. My favorite thing about this is that it isn’t a perfect cover? Like some of the words run together, we get the ambient noise of the streets, the twang of the guitar strings plucked, but it makes it feel really raw and 10X better. He also seems to be singing from someplace deep in him. Idk what he was feeling at this moment but you can tell this has weight. I think....this is my favorite cover of his.
