There was no audit done in the now defunct Nhif,to point out challenges that were there if ANY to necessitate the birth of Shif.We are yet to be told what was so fundamentally wrong with Nhif and that it could not be salvaged OR emerging issues could not be admistratively dealt.The whole charade is merchantile,and has nothing to do with what they are trumpeting as better services and schemes.none of the people that have over turned Nhif to shif are even members of the scheme.they have private insurance.this government has failed us terribly.kenyans are dying of mundane ailments,the mortality rate has fallen

NHIF was not a multi facets system that could sustain the new SHA law. Having system faults in such a massive change is expected. During your time, we had only a population of 20million vs 50 million people. All countries are gearing through computrization. Its unfortunate that you are interviewing clueless lawyers who have no experience in healthcare. USA healthcare system still has faults, and it's a continuous process to improve system.

You missed the point good sir. The criticism is on the process, that has got us here. A project of this magnitude requires transparency, accountability, and open tender to select the best vendor or vendors. Ideally, there should have been a pilot in a smaller county to clean up the majority of the bugs before it got rolled out nationwide.

@do103 Thank you for your constructive critique. The tender for IT was gazetted and advertised in all major newspapers. Procurement of government services has to follow specific rules and regulations by law. In a nutshell, the law was adhered to as prescribed. The testing of SHA system was done for almost three months internally. This was a massive project, and teething problems were bound to happen. Currently the system has registered twice the number NHIF had and has offered more services in last month by an average of 40% increase compared to NHIF. Once in full running, it will give Kenya healthcare delivery they have never seen before
