I thought before I saw this, that a studio looking over the thames would be a good idea, but now i've noticed, the majority of the show in the winter will be in pitch black, and even in the summer the first hour will be slightly dark. This, with the dark themed studio, could prove to be a problem. On the plus side, they've got the best weather girl out there in Lucy Verasamy and the presenter duo is good. Whether it's a success will remain to be seen

There is this dude called john who always presents the weather at about 7:20 am in the morning and me, mum and my brother all seem to be watching at this point and as soon as he comes on me and my brother go 'ITS JOHN!' because after he does the weather he said says 'and enjoy your day' in a really funny voice and that has stuck in our heads haahaa so funny xxx

I love this studio, its modern, spacious and has a lovely panoramic view across the Thames to St.Paul's. I think this is my favorite Daybreak era.

I've not seen much of this yet, but first impressions from what I have seen so far, I think they're onto a winner. Some people are saying that the studio looks too dark, but I think it creates a great early morning atmosphere. It's not the kind of show I'd tune in to, but for those who watch the GMTV kind of thing, I think this is a huge improvemement. I think even I could watch it too, in small doses.

Who's "bright" idea was it to to basically rely on natural light to light up the studio. I mean the whole programme is in darkness during the winter months, and does the sun ever rise before 6am in the UK?

Did no one in ITV think 'a pitch black tv studio does not work for breakfast tv'? To add to that, some bright spark decided purple and brown would liven things up too. Mix that with Adrian Chiles' monotone voice and drab face and you get a cacophony of shit.

I never liked GMTV, I found it focused now on alot of gossip. So I watched BBC Breakfast instead. But Breakfast is a tad dull. Daybreak I think is a good compromise of News and Entertainment. Its feels like a morning version of The One Show. I also find Daybreaks visuals and music very uplifiting, just what you need when your miserable after waking up :D

I do think that Daybreak had potential here, but it lacked warmth from the presenters, studio, and good quality content. I think this is where it went wrong, day one! I would just love it if GMTV came back in some shape or form eventually. I still miss Eamonn, Fiona and Penny! :'(

Yes it is a huge improvement than Daybreak and very up-to-date. It is just a shame that ITV couldn't have done something like this under the name GMTV. New era for ITV Breakfast I guess.

Me Too. Good Morning Britain is way better though and has decent presenters, unlike Adrian Chilly and Christine Bleak. I still watch Sky Sunrise with Eamonn, although it can also lack warmth.

Admittedly, I've hardly watched this (apart from just seeing what it's like how it's evolving). But I don't see what's so bad about it. It's not all that different from GMTV. So why is it so disliked?

hmm i havent seen it before til now but it doesnt seem to be the most bright and colourful of studio sets. i know its still a bit dark outside, but the set reminds me of a night time show! people need bright, light hearted, refreshening colours and decoration to wake them up in the morning!

BBC Breakfast was just dull spending their time broadcasting a local school of skipping children at 7am...YAWN and every time I tune into Sky News I'm being forced their biased journalism down my throat. GMTV was just plain gimmicky, you never knew who was presenting what. Daybreak is something simplistic, stylish and easy to digest in the morning, I'd definitely have this on every morning.

Why? Daybreak was identical to GMTV anyway. And now Good Morning Britain is identical to both Daybreak and GMTV. Literally the only thing that changed was the name of the show. That's it. It's absolutely baffling how people can be mad about GMTV changing its name to Daybreak, with nothing else changing.

I must tell you: this show is simply brilliant. I'm from Portugal so, regarding the contents of the dairy show it's a bit hard for me to speak about. But the titles... the graphs, the set, the concenpt... Brillian. Try and see what we do here in Portugal: watch?v=957WEhKlS98 a newscaster from 6:30 to 10 AM speaking and speaking.

@ThisEnglishBoy Well so far Daybreak viewing figures are lower than GMTV even in it's latter days and well below BBC Breakfast. It is so far hugely behind the viewing figures that GMTV pulled before Fionna Phillips left. All in all a pretty bad start. If wanting interesting presenters who do their job well whilst also getting a laugh out of their viewers is 'Not having high standards' then I am guilty as charged!

Sky and the BBC must be laughing their socks off. ITV have gotten rid of a bunch of likeable presenters who are legitimate journalists and replaced them with a charmless moron and a barbie doll, neither of who are qualified for the job. It is a classic example of people with power trying to tell the public what we want. Well most people did not want this change and will hopefully vote with their remote controls. Sky news sunrise here we come. Bring back Penny and Ben!
