We don't know if physical board games will still be played in 100 years... so I guess decomposable components do make sense... That said, love what you do! Thanks for showing this game. Can't wait for your straight up solo!

The sustainable packaging movement makes sense when it comes to single use plastics, the moment its something used over and over again then using normal plastics just makes sense. If they want to package things in sustainable materials for that first time you open the game, fine use them, but the "permanent" storage aspect needs to be of a good quality, whether a nice thick cardboard organizer, or plastic containers.

That’s what I say too!

At least it goes with the theme 😂

As far a "sustainable"...I normally replace all game inserts with x or y trayz, token silos, or DVG deep token trays. This one I likely would not, so that is a part of the game I would "sustain" as is...? Does that help? It's irritiating when manufacturers call the shipping/product protection inserts a "game insert" as a special item. Solar 175 has a highly developed insert, but in the end still relies on baggies. These guys seem to have given you everything needed to table and box the game.

I like the sustainable packaging. Seems like a nicer thing to have in my home than a bunch more plastic trays and bags. Also, it would be hilariously hypocritical to do anything else, given the game's theme. I'm sure the publishers are intentionally side-stepping any potential bad reviews that point out that a game about climate action is crammed full of unnessary plastic!

I agree with you that they may have had a time dealing with the fallout on that.

I have to agree with you in regards to the storage. Myself, I'm not an environmentalist and feel this is all a gimmick to make money. See Bill Gates. The card and board quality look like a prototype (color scheme wise). Not sure this is up my alley to try but thanks for the unboxing. PS. Might want to checkout BGG, as there is an errata for a few cards. Believe it affects solo.

Thanks for the tip! I will check it out. Up close, things don’t look like a prototype but the coloring on the wooden components is a little bush league and fuzzy.

I agree. Gimmick. And misplaced. Board gamers I'm learning really take care of their games and stuff. So it's most definitely pointless, a gimmick.... And actually bad - we want quality, well built stuff so we can, ironically, be even more sustainable. Simply by virtue of our hobby. Very retro 70s. I've never been a fan of that unless it's Raypunk. Look forward to some gameplay, but it's looking like it's not my jam.

I do find it ironic that I am going to play hundreds of pieces of plastic to cover all of their sustainable cards…I do think the whole thing is a gimmick. I want quality!
